Tarazona de La Mancha initially approves its civic and citizen ordinance

The Plenary of the City Council of Tarazona de La Mancha agreed at its ordinary session held on 30 July 2026 to give initial approval to the Civic and Citizen Ordinance, a regulation that will govern coexistence in the municipality and the sanctioning regime for uncivil conduct. The agreement has been published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Albacete number 94, of 14 August 2026, page 21 (notice 21.303), and is subject to a thirty-day public information period.

The processing complies with the provisions of Articles 49 and 70.2 of Law 7/1985, of 2 April, regulating the Bases of Local Government, and Article 56 of Royal Legislative Decree 781/1986, of 18 April, approving the consolidated text of the legal provisions in force in matters of Local Government. With this ordinance, the municipality of the Manchuela region of Albacete provides itself with its own framework for regulating the use of public space and neighbourhood coexistence.

Public information and allegations procedure

The file is placed on view so that any interested party may examine it and submit such claims as they deem appropriate within thirty days, counted from the day following the insertion of the notice in the official gazette, that is, from 15 August 2026.

  • Allegations deadline: thirty calendar days from 15 August 2026.
  • Purpose of the procedure: examination of the file and submission of claims to the City Council.
  • Effect of silence: if no allegations are submitted, the agreement shall be deemed finally approved.

Content of the regulation

The Civic and Citizen Ordinance will establish the rules of behaviour in the public spaces and services of the municipality, with special attention to conduct affecting daily coexistence.

  • Regulation of citizen coexistence at the municipal level.
  • Catalogue of uncivil conduct and its sanctioning regime.
  • Mechanisms for preventing and correcting behaviour contrary to the ordinance.

Processing body

The agreement was adopted by the Plenary of the Corporation in its ordinary session of 30 July 2026, the competent body for the initial and final approval of municipal ordinances. The notice, inserted in section three, Local Administration, of the BOP, is signed in Tarazona de La Mancha on 4 August 2026 by the mayor, Miguel Zamora Saiz.

Publication in the provincial gazette not only gives publicity to the agreement, but also opens the decisive phase of the procedure: citizen participation. The residents of Tarazona de La Mancha have in their hands the possibility of submitting allegations before the ordinance becomes final, in a procedure that will determine the final text of a regulation destined to govern day-to-day coexistence in the municipality.
