Tarancón approves new fees for its municipal nursery school

The Plenary of the Tarancón City Council definitively approved, in a session on August 27, 2026, the modification of the Regulatory Text of the public price for the use of the municipal nursery school service. The agreement, signed by Mayor José Manuel López Carrizo, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cuenca number 103, dated September 7, 2026, pages 13 to 17, under number 2103.

The regulation is issued in exercise of the powers of articles 135.1 and 142 of the Spanish Constitution and in accordance with articles 41 to 47 of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5. The payment obligation arises upon enrollment and enjoyment of the service, and is paid on the 1st day of each month in which the student is enrolled.

Service Rates

The gross amount of the public price is structured into enrollment and monthly fees, with differentiated rates according to the schedule modality and the age of the students.

Enrollment: 20 €.
Basic modality (school hours): 195.68 €/month, except for students aged 2-3, who are exempt (0 €/month) according to Decree 34/2024, of July 2, of the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha.
Extended morning schedule (breakfast included): 80.11 €/month.
Dining hall schedule (lunch included): 184.68 €/month for those not aged 2-3 and 118.99 €/month for those aged 2-3.
Extended afternoon schedule (snack included): 55.65 €/month.

Daily fees for occasional use are also established (breakfast 5.24 €, dining hall 12.09 € or 6.54 €, snack 3.64 €) as well as vouchers for 10 meals, breakfasts, or snacks. The service is exempt from VAT as of the date of approval.

Income-Based Reductions

Reductions are calculated based on the per capita income of the family unit, adding boxes 435 and 460 of the IRPF (Personal Income Tax) returns and dividing by the number of members. Brackets are applied according to the Public Indicator of Multiple Effects Income (IPREM) in 14 payments.

Per capita income ≤ 50% of IPREM: 70% reduction.
Per capita income ≤ 100% of IPREM: 62.5% reduction.
Per capita income ≤ 150% of IPREM: 55% reduction.
Per capita income ≤ 200% of IPREM: 47.5% reduction.
Per capita income ≤ 250% of IPREM: 40% reduction.

Interested parties will have a period of 10 business days to provide the tax return for the current year. Those who do not present the return before enrollment will not obtain any reduction.

Scholarships and Bonuses

In addition to income-based reductions, the text provides for bonuses for electronic processing and scholarships based on family situation.

Electronic processing: 100% tuition discount if all holders interact electronically with the City Council.
General category large family: 10% discount.
Special category large family: 20% discount.
One sibling enrolled in the center: 30% discount.
Two or more siblings enrolled: 40% discount.
Extraordinary social action scholarship: 100% discount, with a maximum of 5 scholarships per course, for users of municipal social services.

The net fee will result from applying the reductions and the most economically beneficial scholarship to the gross amount. Payments will be debited from a bank account, and schedules may be modified by full months by requesting it up to the 22nd day of the previous month.

The modification directly affects families with children enrolled in the municipal preschools of Tarancón, who will see the applicable rates and aid updated. An administrative appeal may be filed against the agreement before the Administrative Litigation Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Castilla-La Mancha based in Albacete, within two months of its publication.
