Tías approves new fees for the municipal swimming pool

Por FactBox Admin

The Local Government Board of the Tías City Council has definitively approved the Regulatory Text for the public price for the provision of services or the performance of sports and physical maintenance activities in the aquatic environment of the Tías municipal swimming pool. The agreement, adopted in an ordinary session held on August 17, 2026, is published in full in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas number 102, of August 26, 2026 (reference 1.761.083).

The new regulation is issued in exercise of the powers conferred in articles 41 to 47 and 127 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries. The full publication is carried out in compliance with the provisions of article 47.1 in relation to article 17.4 of the aforementioned regulation, and the public price will enter into force on the day following its publication in the gazette.

Rates by age and modality

The text establishes differentiated amounts by age group for free access and for swimming activities. For the free access pass to the swimming lane, the monthly rates are:

  • General (31-65 years): 30 euros
  • Youth (12-30 years): 20 euros
  • Children (3-11 years): 18 euros
  • Seniors (+65 years): 15 euros

For swimming with two weekly classes, prices range from 35 euros for the general group to 25 euros for the children’s group, while with one weekly class they range between 30 and 20 euros. The “Seniors Health” activity is set at 25 euros for three days a week and 20 euros for two days.

Combined passes and single entry

The text also regulates a pass that combines free access with a guided sports activity two days a week, with prices ranging from 50 euros for the general group to 30 euros for those over 65 years old. This pass exclusively includes free access and participation in a single guided activity, without allowing registration in more than one. Single entry to the facilities, without an activity, is set at 3 euros for any group of users, and age verification will be carried out using the national identity document, the foreign identity number, or an equivalent document.

Reductions for large families and people with disabilities

Reductions are established on the prices of sections a) to f):

  • Large families: 25% of the total
  • People with a recognized disability exceeding 33%: 50% of the total

Percentages are not cumulative nor applicable simultaneously or successively; in the event that several coincide, the highest shall apply. To enjoy them, the DNI must be presented and, where applicable, supporting documentation of large family status or a current official document certifying a degree of disability equal to or greater than 33%. Processing will be carried out by the Municipal Sports Service and is upon request.

Management, collection, and entry into force

Payment shall be made by self-assessment at a collaborating bank office, and fees for guided activities shall be paid monthly in advance, no later than the 25th day of the previous month, with the possibility of direct debit. Failure to pay will result in the removal of the beneficiary, and no refund of paid amounts will be issued except in the provided cases. Debts for public prices will be demanded through the enforcement procedure.

The final approval of these rates affects all users of the Tías municipal swimming pool, who will see prices unified and updated by age, with combined vouchers and social reductions for large families and people with disabilities. The text, signed by the mayor-president José Juan Cruz Saavedra in Tías on August 21, 2026, enters into force the day following its publication in the official bulletin.
