Susana Castaño Zamora, new Community Manager of the Diputación de Badajoz

The Provincial Council of Badajoz has appointed Susana Castaño Zamora as a career civil servant to the position of Community Manager (Social Media and Digital Community Manager), a newly created technical position within the field of digital communication. The resolution, signed by the President of the institution, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz number 175, dated September 14, 2026, under announcement 3575/2026.

A newly created position in digital communication

The position is categorized under the Special Administration scale, Technical sub-scale, Superior class, group A, subgroup A1. The appointment is made in accordance with the proposal of the Qualifying Board dated July 23, 2026, which resolved the call for the provision of the position through a competitive examination (concurso-oposición) via open entry.

The rules of the call were published in the Official Gazette of the Province on April 11, 2025, with an extract in the Official State Gazette on April 24, 2025. The selected person submitted the required documentation within the period established in the eleventh rule of the call.

Assumption of office and requirements

To acquire the status of a career civil servant, Susana Castaño Zamora must swear an oath of allegiance to the Constitution and the rest of the legal system, and take office in accordance with Article 62 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30, which approves the revised text of the Law of the Basic Statute of Public Employees.

The maximum period for taking office is thirty business days, counted from the day following the notification of the appointment. The call provides that applicants who prove a minimum seniority of one year of services rendered in the convening administration are exempt from the internship phase.

Processing and appeals

Compliance with the resolution is entrusted to the Functional Area of Public Employees, Occupational Health and Safety, which will notify the interested party of the appointment, publish it in the official gazette, and communicate it to the Payroll Office and the Provincial Funds Audit Office.

Against the resolution, which exhausts administrative remedies, an optional appeal for reversal may be filed before the Presidency of the Provincial Council within one month, or directly a contentious-administrative appeal before the competent Contentious-Administrative Court. The resolution is issued using the powers conferred by Article 61, paragraph 12, of the Regulation on the Organization, Operation and Legal Regime of Local Entities, approved by Royal Decree 2568/1986, of November 28.

Relevance for the province

The creation and filling of this Community Manager position represents a step in the modernization of the institutional communication of the Diputación de Badajoz, which is stably incorporating a technical profile specialized in social networks and digital communities. With this appointment, the institution reinforces its digital presence and its capacity for dialogue with the citizens of the province, consolidating a service that until now did not have its own civil service personnel in this category.
