Sports grants in El Vendrell: 206,000 euros for the 2025-2026 season

The Vendrell City Council has opened the call for grants under a competitive bidding process for sports promotion carried out during the 2025-2026 season, with a budget of 206,000 euros. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona on September 25, 2026 (CVE 2026-08734, pp. 1-4) and derives from the mayoral decree of August 3, 2026, registered in the resolutions book under number 2026LDEC004109 on September 7, 2026. The call is addressed to non-profit clubs, entities, and sports associations, as well as individual athletes from the municipality.

Regulatory framework and background

The rules governing these grants are the specific bases for the granting of subsidies to sports clubs and associations in Vendrell for sports promotion, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona on August 22, 2019, with insertion number 2019-07831, and with final approval published in the same gazette with insertion number 2019-09169, dated October 11, 2019.

Four programs and available credit

The maximum budget for the 2025-2026 season is divided among four sports programs:

• Federated sports program: 100,000 euros, charged to budget application 0603-34100-48900.
• School sports program: 50,000 euros, charged to budget application 0603-34100-48901.
• High competition program: 50,000 euros, charged to budget application 0603-34100-48902.
• Physical activity and sports in social sectors with special characteristics: 6,000 euros, charged to budget application 0603-34100-48903.

Grants cannot be awarded for amounts exceeding the aforementioned quantities. The purpose of the aid is to help beneficiaries cover part of the expenses inherent in the development of sports activities, with the aim of promoting sports practice among all age groups.

Beneficiaries and requirements

The following may apply for the call:

• Non-profit clubs and sports entities or associations registered in the Registry of Clubs, Associations and Sports Entities of the General Secretariat for Sport of the Generalitat de Catalunya and in the Municipal Registry of Entities of El Vendrell, which carry out their activity in the municipality and have their registered office there.
• Natural persons registered as residents in El Vendrell, who compete in official federated competitions of a state or international scope and who are not part of any club, entity or sports association in the municipality.

Applicants must be up to date with their tax and Social Security obligations, not have tax residency in tax havens, have justified grants from previous years, and not have been sanctioned by the El Vendrell City Council or other administrations. It will also be necessary to provide a negative certificate from the Central Registry of Sexual Offenders for all persons carrying out activities with habitual contact with minors, and to comply with the transparency obligations of Law 19/2014 when at least 40% of annual income comes from public grants exceeding 5,000 euros. Legal entities must report the remuneration of their management bodies when the grant exceeds 10,000 euros.

Deadline and submission of applications

The deadline for submitting the application is 30 calendar days starting from the day after the publication of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona, meaning it closes on October 25, 2026. Applications are addressed to the Department of Sports, the administrative unit responsible for the processing of the procedure, and the standardized form, available at the Department of Sports and on the website elvendrellesports.cat, must be attached.

A separate application must be submitted for each of the programs for which the grant is requested. The process can be carried out electronically through the portal seu-e.cat/web/elvendrell, at post offices, at Spanish diplomatic and consular representations abroad, at registry assistance offices, or at any other place provided for by current regulations.

With this call, the sports fabric of El Vendrell has a stable financing framework for the entire season, from school and federated sports to high competition and programs aimed at social sectors with specific needs. Interested clubs and athletes have one month to formalize the documentation and ensure they meet the required accreditation requirements.
