Grants for modernizing indoor water installations in Melilla

The Ministry of Environment and Nature of the Autonomous City of Melilla has published the call for grants aimed at the modernization of interior water installations for buildings, with a maximum credit of 120,000 euros financed with own funds. Purpose and Beneficiaries
The aid seeks to facilitate the adaptation to current regulations of service connections, meter banks, and meter niches or housings, from the connection with the municipal network to the exit toward the interior network, also allowing for the implementation of remote reading systems.
Beneficiaries may be the owners of drinking water meter installations that require adaptation and that have been previously urged to do so via reliable notification from the Autonomous City of Melilla or the public service management entity. They must meet the requirements of Article 13 of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies.
Amount and Conditions
The grant may reach up to 70 percent of the cost of the actions executed and included in the submitted invoices, respecting the maximum amounts in Annex IV of the regulatory bases. The expenditure is charged to the budget application 2026/07/16100/78001, “Grant for the adaptation of interior water installations.”
- Maximum credit: 120,000 euros.
- Regime: non-competitive concurrence, processed in strict order of submission until the credit is exhausted.
- Eligible actions: those executed from January 1, 2025, until the date of application submission.
- A single application per applicant.
- Incompatible with any other aid for the same actions.
Deadline and Processing
The deadline for submitting applications will be two months, counted from the day following the publication of the summary in the Official Gazette of the City of Melilla. The full text of the call can be consulted in the National Grants Database (identifier BDNS 926291).
The agreement was adopted by the Government Council in an ordinary session on July 31, 2026, at the proposal of the Ministry of Environment and Nature, and signed by Luis Mayor Olea, Director General of Infrastructure and Water Resources. The regulatory bases are contained in document PTS_M_0038.
Relevance
The call allows holders of meters installed by the City to adapt their facilities to the regulations with support for up to 70% of the cost, through an agile first-come, first-served procedure. As this is a non-competitive process, it is advisable to submit the application as soon as possible to ensure access to the available credit.
