Grants for beautifying facades in the historic center of Alcalá del Júcar

The City Council of Alcalá del Júcar has published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Albacete number 100, dated August 28, 2026, the call for grants intended for the improvement and beautification of facades and exterior enclosures within the municipality’s historical-artistic ensemble (CHA), corresponding to the year 2026. The call, identified with the code BDNS 926073, is published as an extract in accordance with Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, and its full text can be consulted in the National Database of Subsidies.

The total amount of the call amounts to 10,500.00 euros, with a maximum of 4,000 euros per application and action, up to a limit of 50% of the submitted budget. The resolution was signed on August 24, 2026, by the mayor, Juan Pascual Muñoz Legidos.

Purpose and beneficiaries

The grants finance actions for plastering, coating, and painting in white of facades and exterior walls of properties located in the CHA, including associated repair and preparation work, as well as the loading and transport of waste to authorized landfills.

The following may apply for these grants:

• Owners, tenants, or leaseholders (the latter with written authorization from the owner).
• Groups of natural persons, homeowners’ associations, and asset communities, even if they lack legal personality.
• Owners of properties in the area delimited by the CHA that are more than four years old, which are not subject to limitations that prevent the intended use, and which have not been beneficiaries of municipal grants of this nature in the last four years.

Three categories of action

The call distinguishes three situations and types of intervention:

• First category: buildings with exposed brick without coating or with discordant colors; requires a continuous breathable coating such as lime mortar or white silicate paint.
• Second category: buildings with only partial exposed brick; requires a continuous breathable coating such as lime mortar.
• Third category: properties with improper coatings (stoneware plinths, tiling, stone cladding, single-layer mortars) or incompatible colors; requires the removal of coatings and their adaptation to the aesthetics of the environment.

Rules, deadline, and submission

The regulatory bases are the Regulatory Ordinance of the bases for the call for the granting of subsidies for the improvement and beautification of facades and exterior enclosures in the historical-artistic ensemble of Alcalá del Júcar, approved by the Plenary in the ordinary session of June 2, 2025, and published in the BOP of Albacete number 90, of August 4, 2025.

The application period is one month from the publication of the summary in the bulletin. Applications may be submitted in person, through the municipal electronic office (www.alcaladeljucar.es), or via any of the channels specified in Article 16 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure, using the standardized form and the required documentation.

The call for applications represents an opportunity for owners and communities in the old town to adapt their facades to the regulations of the historical-artistic ensemble with municipal financial support, contributing to the conservation and enhancement of one of the most unique heritage sites in the province of Albacete.
