Corralito metering substation in Manzanares opens for public consultation

The Provincial Delegation for Sustainable Development of Ciudad Real has opened for public consultation the request for prior administrative and construction authorization for the “ST Medida Corralito” metering substation, a 220 kV electrical infrastructure located in the municipality of Manzanares. The announcement, signed on August 4, 2026, by the provincial delegate Agustín Espinosa Romero, is published in the Official Gazette of Castilla-La Mancha (DOCM) number 161, dated August 24, 2026, page 30793, with official reference 2026/6016.

The procedure is processed under Title IX of Law 24/2013 on the Electricity Sector, and articles 9.2 and 13 of Decree 80/2007, of June 19, which regulates the authorization procedures for electrical energy installations processed by the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha and its review and inspection regime.

The installation and its purpose

The “ST Medida Corralito” substation is intended to house the voltage and current transformers necessary for the correct measurement of energy coming from the ST Nudo Manzanares substation to the network boundary point located at the SET Manzanares 220 kV. It will be located in the area annexed to the REE SET Manzanares 220 kV, near the entry point of the line coming from the ST Nudo Manzanares.

Deadline and method for allegations

The file may be examined for a period of twenty days from the publication of the announcement at the Industry and Energy Service of the Provincial Delegation, in the Ciudad Administrativa de Ciudad Real, 1st floor, Ronda del Carmen, 1, Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 14:00 hours. It will also be available electronically on the notice board of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha.

During this period, interested parties may submit any allegations they deem appropriate to the processing body.

Relevance for the area

The new metering substation reinforces the electrical transmission infrastructure around Manzanares, a strategic node of the 220 kV network managed by Red Eléctrica de España (REE). The installation will allow for the precise accounting of energy flowing between the Manzanares node and the transmission network, a necessary preliminary step for the commissioning of new connections and to guarantee the quality and security of the supply in the region.
