Por FactBox Admin

The Cosío Neighborhood Council has put up for auction a deer stalking permit in the Saja Regional Hunting Reserve for the 2026/2027 season, according to the tender announcement published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria (BOC no. 165, of August 27, 2026). The object is a single permit for a non-trophy buck, with a starting fee of 1,000.00 euros, and it will be awarded to the highest economic bid.
The announcement, signed by the village mayor Pedro Manuel González Olcoz in Cosío on August 4, 2026, is part of the hunting management of the Neighborhood Council’s lands, located in the municipality of Rionansa. The auction is governed by the approved specifications and by the sectoral hunting and public procurement regulations.

Procurement Board and Awarding
The Procurement Board, composed of the president of the Council or their delegate, the secretary, and a member of the Cosío Neighborhood Council, will be constituted on September 20, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Council’s premises (former schools of Cosío). After the opening of the envelopes and the qualification process, the proposal will be submitted to the competent body for the award.
The successful bidder will have ten business days to formalize the payment of the fee; if this period expires without payment, they will be declared to have withdrawn and the permit will be awarded to the next best offer. In addition to the fee, they must pay the amounts provided for in Article 11 of Order DES/16/2025, of April 29 (entry and complementary fees), as well as the fees of the Government of Cantabria and the processing and publication costs.
Obligations of the Successful Bidder

The successful bidder must exercise the permit personally, without transferring the shot, the accompaniment, or any other right to third parties, and must notify the Board at least two days in advance of the place and date of the appointment with the forestry agent. The Neighborhood Council reserves the right to accompany the successful bidder on the day of the stalk to verify compliance with the clauses.
For matters not provided for in the specifications, the provisions of the Public Sector Contracts Law, Law 7/1985, of April 2, and the Forestry Law and Regulations shall apply.
The auction represents an opportunity for hunters interested in the Saja Reserve and, at the same time, a source of income for hunting management and the maintenance of the communal forests of Cosío, in the heart of the Rionansa region.
