Auction of 2,100 cubic meters of pine in the El Cabrero mountain

The Minor Local Entity of Loma Somera (Valderredible) has arranged the disposal, via public auction, of the timber forest harvesting of Public Utility Mountain number 271, El Cabrero, for the year 2026. The announcement, with reference CVE-2026-7000 and file AF-UOM/2026/271/1, is published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria number 173, dated September 8, 2026, within the administrative contracting section.

The single lot offered amounts to 2,100 cubic meters of Scots pine timber from the first thinning, with a base price of 37,800 euros (excluding VAT), which may be improved upwards. The processing is ordinary, via an open procedure and auction format, and the execution period is eighteen months from the final award.

Object and characteristics of the lot

The contract consists of the sale, via auction, of a single lot of timber in the public utility mountain El Cabrero (MUP-271), belonging to the Minor Local Entity of Loma Somera, located in the municipality of Valderredible. The main characteristics are:

• Specific asset: products from the first thinning of Scots pine in the indicated locations.
• Type of cutting: to be executed according to the extraction criteria of the Particular Specifications of Technical-Facultative Conditions (PPCTF).
• Quantity: 2,100.00 cubic meters of timber.
• Base price: 37,800.00 euros (excluding VAT).
• Settlement method: based on the final measurement.

Guarantees and submission of bids

No provisional guarantee is required, while the final guarantee will be five percent of the award price, excluding VAT. Proposals may be submitted by certified mail or at the offices of the Valderredible City Council, Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

• Submission deadline: fifteen business days from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official Gazette of Cantabria.
• Deadline for claims regarding the specifications: eight business days from publication.
• Opening of proposals: at 7:00 PM on the second Saturday following the end of the bid submission period.

Requirements for proposals

Each bidder may not submit more than one proposal, nor sign proposals in a temporary joint venture with others if they have already done so individually. Offers shall be presented in a sealed envelope with the identifying legend of the file, which will contain two inner envelopes: ENVELOPE A for administrative documentation and ENVELOPE B for the economic proposal, containing original documents or authenticated copies.

The auction represents an opportunity for the timber sector of Cantabria and a sustainable management instrument for the public forests of the Valderredible region, by adding value to the Scots pine timber of a public utility forest.
