The SPRI Entrepreneur program supports 134 companies and entrepreneurs with more than one million euros.

SPRI-Agencia Vasca de Desarrollo Empresarial has approved 134 entities for the Ekintzaile program grants, with the aim of distributing a total of more than €1,136,566. The decision has been made through the resolution of July 30, 2026, signed by the general director Jon Ansoleaga Ugarte, and was published today, August 18, in the Boletín Oficial del País Vasco (BOPV), issue 156.

SPRI is an agency under the Basque Government, and the aim of the Ekintzaile program is to support the creation of new business projects in the Basque territory. The program’s call for applications was approved on April 24, 2025, and was published in the BOPV (issue 90) on May 15, 2025. This resolution is published in compliance with Law 20/2023 (which regulates the regime of public aid), pursuant to the provisions of its Article 26.

Diversity of projects: video games, automation, and sustainable fashion

The Ekintzaile program covers a broad range of sectors, and among the companies receiving aid, the following areas of activity stand out:

The Ekintzaile+ program offers larger grants

SPRI has simultaneously published the resolution of the Ekintzaile+ program (BOPV-2026/3646), which offers larger grants of up to 100,000 euros. The call for this program was approved on 12 June 2025 and published in the BOPV on 26 June 2025 (Issue 120). Beneficiaries of the Ekintzaile+ program include Orbik Cybersecurity (€86,792.30), Qlarix Healthcare Solutions (€100,000), Akarkala (€72,614.20), Welltech Electronics (€100,000), From Lab To Field (€100,000), Attenbio (€100,000), Neety Technologies (€100,000), Moden Modular Structures (€93,593.50), and Mai Cdmo (€63,000).

Impact of the entrepreneurship programme in the Basque Country

The entrepreneurship programme allocates more than one million euros to strengthening the startup ecosystem in the region, creating new employment and fostering innovation. The support received by 134 entities shows that the Basque Country’s entrepreneurship indicator is alive and well, with new projects emerging across a wide range of sectors — technology, health, energy, fashion and entertainment. Through the Ekintzaile and Ekintzaile+ programmes, SPRI strengthens the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Basque Country, establishing solid foundations for competing in Europe and internationally.
