The Sotorribas City Council has initially approved the Valued Report for the “Emergency actions for the repair of rural roads in the province of Cuenca, municipal district of Sotorribas,” for a total amount of 646,352.36 euros including VAT. The agreement, adopted by the Plenary in an extraordinary session on August 31, 2026, is subject to public consultation for 10 business days. The decision is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cuenca, number 101, dated September 2, 2026, pages 38 and 39.
The intervention, processed as emergency work, seeks to restore rural connectivity and guarantee access to the agricultural sector of the region. The Valued Report was drafted by Ms. Laura Bustos Ruiz, Chartered Architect COACM 12064, and affects eight hamlets of the municipality.
Scope of the work
The repair covers the network of rural roads that form the backbone of the municipal district of Sotorribas, with a special focus on the service roads to agricultural holdings and population centers. The hamlets included in the action are:
- Sotos
- Collados
- Torrecilla
- Villaseca
- Ribagorda
- Ribatajada
- Ribatajadilla
- Pajares
Public information and allegations
The file is subject to public consultation for a period of 10 business days, counted from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province and on the City Council’s electronic office (https://sotorribas.sedelectronica.es). During this period, any interested party may examine the documentation at the municipal offices and submit any allegations or claims they deem appropriate.
Delegation of competence and appeals
In parallel, the Plenary agreed to delegate to the Ms. Mayor the competence for the final approval of the Valued Report, in accordance with articles 9.3 of Law 40/2015, of October 1, on the Legal Regime of the Public Sector, and 44.2 of Royal Decree 2568/1986, of November 28. Against the agreement, which ends the administrative route, an optional appeal for reversal may be filed within one month before the Plenary, or a contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Cuenca within two months. The announcement is signed by the acting mayor, María Estela Moreno Martínez.
The processing as emergency work and the amount committed underscore the urgency of restoring rural infrastructures essential for agricultural activity and the mobility of the residents of Sotorribas. The resolution of the file, following the period for allegations, will determine the schedule for works that directly affect the connectivity and economy of the region.
