The Provincial Delegation for Sustainable Development of Toledo has opened for public consultation the request for prior administrative authorization for the undergrounding of the 132 kV high-voltage line in the municipality of Illescas (Toledo). The announcement, signed on August 31, 2026, by the provincial delegate José Rubén Torres Moratalla, is published in the Official Gazette of Castilla-La Mancha (DOCM) on September 15, 2026, in section V of Announcements, with reference E-45211114117.
The project, promoted by UFD Distribución Electricidad, S.A., responds to the “Los Pradillos” urban development and contemplates the construction of a new 132 kV high-voltage line between Illescas and Illescas II, with entry and exit at the new Pradillos 132 kV substation. The action is processed under Law 24/2013, of December 26, on the Electricity Sector, and Decree 80/2007, of June 19, which regulates the authorization procedures for electrical installations in Castilla-La Mancha.
The scope of the undergrounding
The intervention consists of undergrounding the 132 kV three-phase overhead lines that cross urbanized land, with a total underground length of 2,651 meters. The route runs entirely through urbanized land within the municipality.
- Circuit 1 Illescas-Pradillos: 1,635 meters, with RHZ1-2OL (S) 76/132 kV conductors of 630 and 1,200 mm².
- Circuit 1 Pradillos-Illescas II: 385 meters, with conductors of 1,200 and 630 mm².
- Circuit 2 Illescas-Pradillos: 213 meters, with conductors of 630 and 1,200 mm².
- Circuit 2 Pradillos-Illescas II: 418 meters, with conductors of 1,200 and 630 mm².
All circuits operate on three-phase alternating current at 132 kV and 50 Hz, and the declared purpose of the project is the construction of the new high-voltage line.
How to participate in the process
The file may be examined at the headquarters of the Provincial Delegation for Sustainable Development of Toledo, at Huérfanos Cristinos, 5 street, or through the website enabled by the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha. Allegations may be submitted within a period of twenty days starting from the day following the publication of the announcement in the official gazette.
Impact for the municipality
The undergrounding of the high-voltage line eliminates the overhead wiring in an urban expansion area, which improves landscape integration and frees up land for the development of Los Pradillos. As it is an electrical infrastructure with a significant impact, citizen participation during the allegations period is key to influencing the final authorization of the project.
