Drawing of jury candidates for the 2027-2028 biennium

Por FactBox Admin

The National Statistics Institute, through the Provincial Delegation of the Electoral Census Office of Zamora, has called for the public draw of jury candidates for the 2027-2028 biennium. The event will be held at 11:00 AM on September 16, 2026, in the Courtroom of the Provincial Court, located at number 7 San Torcuato Street, Zamora. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Zamora, number 104, dated September 7, 2026, page 2.

The draw is carried out in compliance with the provisions of Article 13.2 of Organic Law 5/1995, of May 22, on the Jury Court, and Article 1.2 of Royal Decree 1398/1995, of August 4. Both regulations govern the selection procedure for citizens called to integrate jury courts, a civic obligation of a general nature.

The announcement, electronically signed on September 4, 2026, bears the signature of the provincial delegate, Julio César Hernández Sánchez, and is disseminated “for the general knowledge” of all residents of the province.

Where and when it takes place

The public act will take place at a single point in the capital of Zamora:

  • Date: September 16, 2026.
  • Time: 11:00 AM.
  • Location: Courtroom of the Provincial Court, number 7 San Torcuato Street, Zamora.
  • Reference biennium: 2027-2028.

A civic obligation for all

The draw determines which citizens may be called to be part of the jury courts during the 2027-2028 biennium. Those who are designated will assume the role of juror, a constitutional duty that does not allow for waiver except in cases of legally provided excuses.

The call reminds that participation in the jury is one of the most direct forms of the exercise of justice by the citizenry, and that the unjustified failure to comply with this obligation may lead to the responsibilities provided for by law.
