Soria tenders a 2.95 million credit to finance investments

The Soria City Council has announced the contracting of a long-term credit operation in the amount of 2,950,000 euros, intended to finance municipal investments. The tender will be formalized through a loan agreement and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Soria, number 98, dated August 24, 2026, page 2898, with reference BOPSO-98-24082026.
The operation is provided for in the Revenue Budget for the 2026 fiscal year and is processed in accordance with the provisions of Article 48 of the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries. The announcement, signed on August 21, 2026, by the mayor, Javier Antón Cacho, details the conditions that will govern the contracting, which are developed in the corresponding Specifications Document.
Characteristics of the operation
The credit is structured as a long-term loan with the following technical conditions:
- Amount: 2,950,000.00 euros.
- Purpose: financing of investments.
- Interest rate: variable.
- Duration: 12 years, with a six-month grace period.
- Amortization: quarterly, with a constant principal amortization installment.
- Interest settlement: quarterly, on the outstanding capital at the beginning of each period.
Submission of offers
Interested financial entities may obtain the Specifications Document that shall govern the contracting, as well as any other related information, at the Treasury Department of the Soria City Council. Offers must adhere to the proposal model approved by the City Council and be submitted through the Electronic Office of the Soria City Council, at the address soria.sedelectronica.es.
The deadline for the submission of proposals will end at 3:00 PM on September 14, 2026.
Impact for the city
The contracting of this credit will allow the Soria council to undertake new municipal investments without immediately compromising its liquidity, thanks to a twelve-year amortization schedule with an initial six-month grace period. The operation, however, will increase municipal debt and open the door for financial entities to compete for the financing, in a process that will be resolved after the closing of the offer submission period on September 14.
