Socuéllamos announces three Local Police Officer vacancies via open competition

The Local Government Board of the Socuéllamos City Council, by Agreement of August 26, 2026, has approved the modification of the selection criteria to fill via open competition three Local Police Officer positions for the Local Police Force of the Ciudad Real town. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real on August 29, 2026, under announcement number 2769.

The call modifies the criteria previously published in the BOP of Ciudad Real No. 151, of August 10, 2026, and in the BOP No. 157, of August 18, 2026. The agreement preserves the administrative acts of admission for applications already submitted, for which the deadline was set from August 18 to September 24, 2026, and opens a new application period of twenty business days, counted from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official State Gazette.

Positions and Requirements

The three positions are categorized under the Basic Scale, Police Category, classified in subgroup C-1 of Article 76 of the Legislative Royal Decree 5/2015, of October 30, which approves the revised text of the Law of the Basic Statute of the Public Employee. The process is governed, among other regulations, by Law 8/2002, of May 23, on the Coordination of Local Police in Castilla-La Mancha, and Decree 37/2026, of July 7, which modifies its Regulations.

To participate, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold Spanish nationality.
  • Be at least eighteen years of age and not exceed the compulsory retirement age.
  • Hold a Baccalaureate degree, Vocational Training Technician degree, or equivalent.
  • Possess driving licenses of classes B and A or A2.
  • Not have been dismissed from the service of any Public Administration nor be disqualified.
  • Have no criminal record for intentional crimes and not have been convicted of crimes against sexual freedom and indemnity.
  • Commit to carrying weapons and using them in the cases provided by law.

Applications and Selection Process

Applications shall be addressed to the Mayor’s Office-Presidency of the Corporation and must be accompanied by a photocopy of the DNI or passport and proof of payment of 30.75 euros as examination fees, payable to the Banco Santander account ES49 0030 5077 9308 7000 0271. Persons with a disability equal to or greater than 33% and those participating in civil service conversion and internal promotion processes are exempt from the fee, in accordance with Tax Ordinance No. 11.

Selection will be carried out through the open access system via competition, in two phases: competition and selection course. The competition phase consists of four mandatory and eliminatory tests:

  • First test: physical fitness, graded as fit or unfit.
  • Second test: knowledge test, consisting of between seventy and ninety questions and a minimum of five points to pass.
  • Third test: psychotechnical test, including general intelligence and personality tests.
  • Fourth test: medical examination, in accordance with the table of medical exclusions.

Board and development

The Qualifying Board will be chaired by a career public official appointed by the convening body, along with the Secretary of the Corporation and four members, among whom will be the person holding the Chief of Local Police position and an official proposed by the Ministry of Finance and Public Administrations of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha. The order of appearance for the applicants will be determined by the letter “N”, according to the resolution of the General Directorate of Public Service dated November 26, 2024.

The maximum duration of the selection process shall not exceed six months from the date of the first test. The call for applications, which consists of 53 pages, includes the syllabus of subjects and the annexes with the physical tests, the table of medical exclusions, and the application form.

The publication of these modified rules represents a new opportunity for applicants interested in joining the staff of the Socuéllamos Local Police, as the application period is reopened for twenty business days. Interested parties should stay alert for the publication of the announcement in the Official State Gazette, which marks the start of the new deadline.
