Socuéllamos announces three vacancies for Local Police officer via competitive examination

The Local Government Board of the Socuéllamos City Council, by Agreement of August 26, 2026, has modified the selection criteria to fill three positions for officers of the Local Police Corps, in the Basic Scale, Police category, classified in subgroup C-1, via open competition. Announcement number 2769 is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real on August 28, 2026.

The modification affects the criteria published in BOP No. 151, of August 10, 2026, and in BOP No. 157, of August 18, 2026. The agreement maintains the administrative acts of admission for applications already submitted, for which the period was set from August 18 to September 24, 2026, and opens a new application period of twenty business days, counted from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official State Gazette.

Regulatory Framework and Requirements

The process is governed by Law 8/2002, of May 23, on the Coordination of Local Police of Castilla-La Mancha; Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30, of the Basic Statute of the Public Employee; Decree 37/2026, of July 7, which modifies the Regulation of the Local Police Coordination Law; Law 4/2011, of March 10, on Public Employment of Castilla-La Mancha; and Royal Decree 364/1995, of March 10.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Hold Spanish nationality.
• Be at least eighteen years of age and not exceed the compulsory retirement age.
• Possess a High School diploma (Bachiller), Vocational Training Technician degree, or equivalent.
• Hold driving licenses of classes B and A or A2.
• Not have been dismissed from the service of any Public Administration nor be disqualified.
• Have no criminal record for intentional crimes and not have been convicted of crimes against sexual freedom and indemnity.
• Commit to carrying weapons and using them in cases provided by law.

Applications and Selection Process

Applications shall be addressed to the Mayor’s Office-Presidency and must be accompanied by a photocopy of the DNI or passport and proof of payment of 30.75 euros as an examination fee, with exemptions for persons with a disability equal to or greater than 33% and for those participating in civil service conversion and internal promotion processes. Submission may be made at the City Council offices or in accordance with Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure.

Selection will be carried out through the open access system via competition, in two phases: the competition and a selective course. The competition phase consists of four mandatory and eliminatory tests:

• Physical fitness: 60-meter sprint, 1,000-meter endurance run, standing broad jump, and medicine ball throw.
• Knowledge test: a questionnaire of between seventy and ninety questions, with a penalty of one-third for each incorrect answer.
• Psychotechnical test: general intelligence and aptitude test, and personality and capabilities test.
• Medical examination, in accordance with the exclusion table of Annex III.

Board and appointment

The Qualifying Board shall be presided over by a career civil servant appointed by the convening body, along with the Secretary of the Corporation and four members, including the Local Police Chief and a civil servant proposed by the Ministry of Finance and Public Administrations of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha. The order of appearance for the applicants shall be determined by the letter “N”, according to the Resolution of November 26, 2024, of the General Directorate of Public Service.

Those who pass the competitive examination phase will be appointed as trainee civil servants and must complete a selective course at the School of Citizen Protection to acquire the status of career civil servant. The selection process shall not exceed six months from the first test.

The call for applications, which concludes the administrative route, may be appealed for reversal within one month or before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Ciudad Real within two months. The opening of a new application period and the preservation of those already admitted guarantee the participation of those who had already registered, while strengthening the municipality’s citizen security workforce.
