Sobrado-Nebra e o Antonio Fraguas gañan o XIII Premio Concepción Arenal

The CEIP Plurilingüe Sobrado-Nebra and the IES Antonio Fraguas will each receive 5,000.00 euros as winners of the XIII Concepción Arenal Prize for educational projects for gender equality. The award was approved by the presidency of the Provincial Deputation of A Coruña through resolution number 44647, dated October 16, 2026, according to the announcement published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña (BOP) number 205, dated Tuesday, October 27, 2026. The agreement appears in the Local Administration section, with official reference 2026/6876.

The resolution takes the form of a direct grant of the prizes “in accordance with the decision of the jury,” and is processed by the Culture, Equality and Civil Rights Service of the provincial institution. The text is dated in A Coruña on October 21, 2026, and is signed by the president, Valentín González Formoso, and the secretary, Miguel Iglesias Martínez.

The announcement does not detail the specific content of modalities B and C under which the two centers applied, although it does identify the category of each winner and the exact amount assigned to each. The joint endowment for this edition therefore amounts to 10,000.00 euros.

Two awards of 5,000 euros

The distribution of the prizes is fixed in the following terms:

  • CEIP Plurilingüe Sobrado-Nebra, with NIF Q6555829H, modality B, prize of 5,000.00 €.
  • IES Antonio Fraguas, with NIF Q6555328A, modality C, prize of 5,000.00 €.

Both centers are the only beneficiaries recognized in the agreement, which does not include runners-up or additional mentions.

Another edition of a consolidated competition

The Concepción Arenal Prize thus reaches its thirteenth edition and maintains its specific objective: to distinguish educational projects oriented towards gender equality. The call is managed by the Culture, Equality and Civil Rights area of the Deputation, which resolves the grant by presidential resolution.

The publication of the agreement occurs after the jury issued its report. The existence of this collegiate body had already been reflected in BOP number 191, dated October 6, 2026, where the summary of Presidential resolutions included resolution number 41100/2026, dated September 23, by which the payment of fees for the persons who were part of the jury of the XIII Concepción Arenal Prize for educational projects for gender equality 2026 was approved.

Other equality prizes from the same area

The Concepción Arenal is part of a set of provincial awards dedicated to equality. The most immediate in time is the X Begoña Caamaño Prize for cultural action for gender equality 2026, whose grant was approved by presidential resolution number 41098, dated September 23, 2026, and published in BOP number 186, dated September 29, 2026.

In that case, two prizes of €6,500.00 each were awarded: one in the entity trajectory category, to the Asociación de Mulleres con Discapacidade de Galicia (NIF G70223417), and another in the personal trajectory category, to María do Carme Adán Villamarín. Both programs share a managing service and the same framework of public recognition for equality initiatives in the province.

The resolution now being published does not establish payment deadlines or additional conditions for the two awarded centers, which are identified solely by their name and NIF.

The granting closes the administrative circuit of the thirteenth edition of the award and provides official publicity to an amount that the two educational centers may allocate to their equality projects. For the readers of the Bulletin, the announcement is the formal record that two centers in the province are undertaking this work and that the Deputación recognizes it with direct funding, in a context where the provincial institution’s equality awards maintain endowments of between 5,000 and 6,500 euros per category.
