Seven research grants from the Provincial Council: provisional resolution published

The Provincial Council of Guadalajara has published in the Official Provincial Gazette (BOP) number 177, dated September 16, 2026, the provisional resolution for the call for seven research grants for master’s theses (TFM) and doctoral theses to be developed during the year 2026. The agreement, adopted by the Governing Board on September 9, 2026, is processed under File 3630/2026 and includes the list of admitted, excluded, grant recipients, and alternates.

The publication is carried out in compliance with the Tenth Base of the call and Article 45 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations. The document, signed by the president José Luis Vega Pérez on September 14, 2026, announces the result of the assessment carried out by the Assessment Commission, which met on July 21, 2026.

Background and framework of the call

The bases for these grants were approved by the Governing Board on May 26, 2026, and published in BOP number 106, dated June 8. The call is aimed at researchers and postgraduate students from the province who are completing master’s theses or doctoral theses.

Each grant is endowed with 2,500 euros, which will be paid from budget item 334 48001 of the 2026 Budget of the Provincial Council of Guadalajara. The Governing Board adopted the agreement unanimously, with five votes in favor, none against, and no abstentions.

Admitted, excluded, and grant recipients

The resolution admits twenty applicants who submitted their application in a timely and proper manner and meet the requirements demanded in the LGS, the RLGS, and the bases of the call. The following are excluded for submitting their applications after the deadline:

• Sergio Rodríguez Carrasco
• Carmen Rodríguez Rubio Corona

Four applicants are also excluded for being unable to prove the defense of their doctoral theses within the 2026 fiscal year, in accordance with rules First.2 and/or Tenth.2 and Tenth.6:

• Adrián Valledor Pérez
• Guillermo Fernández Carrera

The seven designated grant recipients, in order of score, are:

• Isabel Ruiz Vilches (60 points), for the work “The humor of the Libro de buen amor as a didactic gateway to the work”
• Sergio Lluva Plaza (60 points), “Contribution to the improvement of independent living based on information in localization systems”
• Henar Calvo Sánchez (58 points), “Restoration of the HBV-specific cytotoxic T cell response in e-antigen negative chronic HBV hepatitis”
• Asunción Mateos Gámez (57.5 points), “Establishment and financing of sustainable development in the depopulated environments of Spain”
• Silvia Radigales Pastor (56 points), “Inhabiting the environment: identity and heritage”
• César Mínguez Ojeda (55 points), “Development of survival models based on machine learning for the prediction of oncological outcomes”
• Juan de las Heras Vela (53.5 points), “Jesús Villa-Rojo, his writing for cello and the analysis of Oración Serena”

Substitutes and appeals period

The Commission also proposes six substitutes, who may access a scholarship in the event of resignation or impossibility of acceptance or enjoyment by any of the seven scholarship holders:

• Alicia García Martínez (49.5 points)
• Alba Huerta Sanz (49 points)
• Hanli Liu Xiao (48.5 points)

The provisional resolution is published granting a period of ten days for interested parties to submit appeals. An optional appeal for reversal may be filed before the Governing Board or challenged directly before the contentious-administrative jurisdictional order.

This call represents a boost to research and postgraduate training in the province, by financing seven Master’s Thesis (TFM) and doctoral thesis projects with a total of 17,500 euros, covering everything from literature and heritage to biomedicine and artificial intelligence applied to oncology.
