Sierra de Gata calls for a technician for its Cultural Park

The Mancomunidad de Municipios Sierra de Gata has announced a selection process via a competitive examination and merit system to hire, on an interim basis, one position for Technical Manager of the Sierra de Gata Cultural Park Management Office. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres, number 0170, dated September 4, 2026, in Section I of Local Administration, with reference CVE: BOP-2026-4193.

The position is funded through a grant awarded by the Excma. Diputación de Cáceres to the Mancomunidad to energize and support the execution of the Cultural Park’s Action Plan. The objective is to integrate the material and immaterial heritage of the territory into the Park’s cultural offering, promoting the valuation of the region’s resources and its sustainable development.

Position Profile and Functions

The contract will be as an interim civil servant by program, without right to compensation, with a duration of 12 months and a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, with hours adapted to the needs of the Action Plan. Among the assigned functions, the following stand out:

  • Conserve, safeguard, and enhance the heritage of the territory and integrate it into cultural activity.
  • Support the planning, management, and promotion of sustainable and competitive socioeconomic development.
  • Promote quality products based on endogenous resources.
  • Improve the notoriety, image, and positioning of the destination.
  • Promote the territory in priority demand segments.

Requirements and Submission of Applications

To participate, applicants must meet the general requirements of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30, of the Basic Statute of Public Employees, and additionally:

  • Hold an official university degree in Tourism, Art History, Archaeology, Geography and Territorial Planning, Cultural Management, Architecture, or History.
  • Possess a class B driver’s license and have their own vehicle.
  • Have the necessary functional capacity for the performance of the position.

Applications shall be submitted to the Registry of the Mancomunidad within ten calendar days from the publication of the announcement, accompanied by the required documentation and proof of payment of the examination fees, which amount to €15.00 and must be deposited into account ES49 2103 7704 5800 3000 0403. The rules will also be published on the notice board and on the institutional website www.sierradegata.es.

Selection Process and Job Bank

The process will consist of two phases. The competitive phase, which is mandatory and eliminatory, will be scored up to a maximum of 20 points (minimum 10 to pass) and will include a 10-question multiple-choice exam on the syllabus of Annex I and the presentation of a report or revitalization project for the Cultural Park. The merit phase will assess training with up to 5 points.

Once the process is completed, a job pool will be established with the applicants who passed the selection without obtaining a position, to cover future vacancies in strict order of score. The waiting list will remain in effect until a new call for applications and, in any case, for a maximum of three years.
