Seville approves the Compensation Board for the Santa Bárbara sector

Sevilla aprueba la Junta de Compensación del sector Santa Bárbara

The Governing Council of the Urban Planning and Environment Management Agency of the Seville City Council, in a session held on September 1, 2026, has definitively approved the projects for the Statutes and Bases of the Compensation Board to be established for the management of Execution Unit 1 of Sector SUS-DE-04 “Santa Bárbara” of the current General Plan. The agreement is made public by edict in the Official Gazette of the Province of Seville, number 179, dated September 15, 2026, with reference CVE: BOP-SE-2026-179022.

A key step for urban development

The definitive approval of the Statutes and Bases constitutes the legal instrument that will allow the establishment of the Compensation Board, an urban management figure through which landowners assume the execution of the action unit. With this agreement, the Urban Planning Management Agency unlocks the development of sector SUS-DE-04 “Santa Bárbara”, one of the developable land areas of the city’s current planning.

The processed file is no. 2/2026 COMP., managed by the Urban Management and Agreements Service of the Agency. The publication is carried out in accordance with the provisions of Article 132, section 7, paragraph 2, of the General Regulations of Law 7/2001 for the Promotion of Territorial Sustainability of Andalusia, approved by Decree 550/2022, of November 29.

With this definitive approval, the Seville City Council completes the administrative phase prior to the effective constitution of the Compensation Board for the Santa Bárbara sector, which will allow progress in the urbanization and subsequent construction of Execution Unit 1. The measure represents a boost to the city’s urban development and provides legal certainty to the owners and agents involved in land management.
