Seville opens the application period for processional music grants

Por FactBox Admin

Sevilla abre el plazo para las ayudas a la música procesional

The Seville City Council has opened the application period for grants intended for the operating expenses of the city’s processional music ensembles during 2026, with a total allocation of 90,200.00 euros. The call for applications was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Seville number 212, dated November 3, 2026, via the announcement summary identified with the reference CVE: BOP-SE-2026-212021, on page 128.

The measure was approved by Urgent Resolution of the Deputy Mayor Delegated for Major Festivals no. 6888, of October 22, 2026, which establishes both the regulatory bases and the call for applications itself. The responsible area is Major Festivals of the Most Excellent City Council of Seville. The publication of the summary complies with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, which requires the publicity of calls for applications through the corresponding official gazette.

The full text of the bases and the call for applications can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database, where the file appears with the identifier BDNS 938723.

Requirements: entities registered in the municipal registry

The call precisely defines who may apply. The following may request aid:

  • Citizen entities with a registered office in the municipality of Seville.
  • Entities registered in the Registry of Citizen Entities on the date of the call and that maintain that registration throughout the remainder of the 2026 fiscal year.
  • Entities whose purpose is the promotion of processional music ensembles in Seville, under the terms set out in the bases.

The dual requirement—office in the municipality and sustained registry enrollment throughout the year—excludes ensembles that are not formally constituted as a citizen entity or those that regularize their situation after the deadline. The municipal registry thus acts as a preliminary filter for access to the aid line.

A credit of 90,200 euros charged to the 2026 budget

The credit reserved for this call amounts to ninety thousand two hundred euros and is charged to the municipal Budget for the 2026 fiscal year. This is the global amount for the line, not the allocation per beneficiary, as the published summary does not detail individual amounts.

The governing regulation is the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, whose articles require the publication of the call summary, the regulatory bases, and the budgetary allocation in the official provincial gazette.

Fifteen business days from the day following publication

The application period is 15 business days and is calculated starting from the day following the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Province of Seville. Since the announcement appears in issue number 212, dated November 3, 2026, the count begins on November 4.

The rules and the call bear the signature of the Deputy Mayor Delegated to the Area of Major Festivals, Manuel María Ales del Pueyo, acting by delegation of the Local Government Board of the Seville City Council, as stated in the document dated in Seville on October 27, 2026. The extract bears number 224050.

Impact on bands and brotherhoods

The call reaches a particularly active sector in the city: cornet and drum bands, musical groups, and processional music formations linked to the accompaniment of brotherhoods. The subsidized operating expenses cover the ordinary maintenance of these entities, rather than specific projects, which provides room for small formations to address structural maintenance costs.

For interested entities, the calendar is tight: fifteen business days from November 4 leave a narrow margin to gather the supporting documentation for registry enrollment and corporate purpose. Prior consultation of the full rules in the National Grants Database, under code BDNS 938723, is the safest step before submitting the application.
