The Department of Health has announced the transfer of the pharmacy office of Sestao

The Department of Health of the Basque Government has announced a proposal for the 100% transfer of a pharmacy office located in the Pharmaceutical Zone of Sestao (Bizkaia), through an announcement published in issue number 165 of the Boletín Oficial del País Vasco (BOPV) on August 31, 2026. Interested pharmacists have a period of two months to submit their applications, and each application will be subject to a fee of 274.81 euros.

The announcement was published in the “Otros anuncios oficiales” section of the Department of Health and was signed by JON IÑAKI BETOLAZA SAN MIGUEL, Director of Pharmacy, in Vitoria-Gasteiz on August 24, 2026.

Regulatory Framework and Procedure

The transfer is announced following the procedure established in Decreto 166/1999, de 16 de marzo, according to Article 4 of the decree regulating the path for the transfer of pharmacy offices. This provision requires that transfer proposals be publicly announced so that interested parties can review the file and submit applications.

Interested parties may obtain information regarding the pharmacy office, the price, and other conditions of the transfer from the file through the following territorial delegations:

• Delegación Territorial de Salud de Gipuzkoa, Sancho el Sabio 35, Donostia / San Sebastián.
• Delegación Territorial de Salud de Bizkaia, Alameda Rekalde 39, Bilbao.

Deadlines and Fees

The period for submitting applications is two months, starting from the day the announcement is published in the Boletín Oficial del País Vasco, that is, from August 31, 2026. Within this period, pharmacists wishing to acquire the pharmacy office must submit their applications.

Each application will be subject to a fee of 274.81 euros, payable for the processing of the transfer file.
