Seremi of Housing extends deadline to register for DS 19 slots in Machalí and Rancagua

Seremi de Vivienda extiende plazo para inscribir cupos DS 19 en Machalí y Rancagua

The Regional Ministerial Secretariat (Seremi) of Housing and Urbanism of the Libertador General Bernardo O’Higgins Region extended the deadline to register for social housing slots in projects under the Social and Territorial Integration Program DS No. 19 (H. and U.), of 2016 located in Machalí and Rancagua, after those complexes failed to fill their quotas. The decision is contained in exempt resolution No. 802, issued in Rancagua on October 16, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Chile No. 44,585, on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, Section I, General Norms (CVE 2891229).

The act that complements resolution 391

Exempt resolution No. 802 complements exempt resolution No. 391, dated June 5, 2026, from the same Seremi, which called for registration for the allocation of housing slots intended for vulnerable families who are subsidy beneficiaries in six selected projects. The new act incorporates a resolution 1.1 to the original text, which empowers the Seremi to establish or differentially increase the registration closing date in those projects that still have available slots, through a resolution supported by registration reports from the Housing Political Division.

The reasoning is operational: according to the recitals, the projects in groups 1 and 2, in Machalí and Rancagua, did not manage to fill their slots with families holding awarded subsidies from programs DS No. 1 and DS No. 49. The authority thus seeks to promote the available slots and housing models more globally to new families awarded under Tier 1 of DS No. 1 and DS No. 49.

Six projects and two groups of communes

The original call covers the following housing complexes:

  • Parque Los Quilos and Parque Los Quilos II, in the commune of Machalí.
  • Jardines del Valle and Parque Rosario, in the commune of Rancagua.
  • Valles de Rengo III Et. 2 and Pintora Enriqueta Petit, in the commune of Rengo.

According to recital 2, the projects in Rengo—corresponding to group 3—filled all their slots, therefore their partial closure was managed so as not to delay the selection and ratification of the assigned families and to avoid withdrawals due to delay.

Deadlines and requirements to apply

Resolution 10 of the act sets an exceptional and differentiated deadline for family registration:

  • Start: 12:00 PM on October 16, 2026.
  • Ordinary closing: 12:00 PM on Friday, October 30, 2026.
  • Automatic extension: if the available slots for groups 1 and 2 are not filled by the end of that period, the data entry validity is extended until 12:00 PM on Friday, November 6, 2026.
  • Territorial application: only for the projects in Machalí and Rancagua identified in the lists of the act.

The case background includes emails from September 30, 2026, from the Head of the Department of Plans and Programs of the Seremi O’Higgins, from the person in charge of the Application section of Serviu O’Higgins, and from an analyst from the Housing Management Department of the Housing Policy Division (DPH), which reported the strategy for the closing of the fifth call.

Validity of the original call

The act further provides that exempt resolution No. 391, dated June 5, 2026, remains in effect in all aspects not modified, and orders the publication of the supplement in the Official Gazette. The resolution bears the signature of Christian Gonzalo Villegas Gárate, Regional Ministerial Secretary of Housing and Urbanism of the Libertador General Bernardo O’Higgins Region, appointed by decree No. 53, dated March 25, 2026, recorded by the Comptroller General of the Republic on April 29, 2026.

Impact for families in the region

The extension is decisive for families who already have an awarded subsidy and have not yet found a project to apply it to: the deadline expires this Friday, October 30, with a final possible extension until November 6. With this, the Seremi seeks to ensure that the six DS No. 19 complexes in Machalí, Rancagua, and Rengo complete all their allocations and do not lose slots intended for vulnerable families in the region.
