Segura de la Sierra opens the expansion of the mountain hotel for public consultation

The City Council of Segura de la Sierra (Jaén) has opened for public review the request for authorization to implement a set of complementary, sustainable, and seasonal improvements and infrastructures at the Hotel de Montaña Morciguillinas tourist facility. The decision was adopted by Mayoral Resolution no. 2026-0088, dated June 24, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Jaén number 164, dated August 25, 2026, under reference 2026/3889.

The announcement, signed by the mayor-president José Manuel Martínez Robles on August 10, 2026, opens a one-month period for the owners of adjacent lands and affected public administrations to submit allegations. The action is processed as an authorization of public interest on rural land, under Decree 550/2022, of November 29, which approves the General Regulation of Law 7/2021, of December 1, for the promotion of the sustainability of the territory of Andalusia.

The request and the project

The petition was submitted by the company El Contadero Aventura S.L., which proposes the improvement of the mountain tourist facility in the municipality of Segura de la Sierra. The project includes works with a material execution budget (PEM) amounting to 42,076.72 euros.

Compensatory payment

As a condition for the extraordinary use and exploitation of the land, the agreement establishes a compensatory payment of 10% of the material execution budget, excluding the cost of machinery and equipment. This amount, which totals 4,207.67 euros, will be allocated to the Municipal Land Heritage and will accrue upon the issuance of the urban planning license.

Procedure and deadlines

During the public information period, which shall not be less than one month, a hearing process is simultaneously granted to the public administrations that protect affected interests and to the owners of the adjacent lands, according to the data from the cadastral certifications and the Property Registry. Once the procedure is completed, the Plenary of the Corporation will adopt the final resolution following the relevant reports.

The announcement will serve as notification to interested parties in the event that personal notification of the hearing process cannot be carried out. The initiative reinforces the tourism offering of the Sierra de Segura, an inland enclave whose hospitality activity depends largely on the improvement of its mountain facilities, and opens the door to the participation of residents and neighbors in the urban planning decision.
