Segura de la Sierra announces its 2026 public employment offer with two positions

The City Council of Segura de la Sierra (Jaén) has announced its ordinary Public Employment Offer for the 2026 fiscal year, with a total of two new entry positions. The call is made public via an edict from the mayor-president, José Manuel Martínez Robles, in the Official Gazette of the Province of Jaén number 170, dated September 2, 2026 (pages 13229 and 13230).

The decision was adopted by Mayoral resolution 2026/117, dated August 28, 2026, and is published for the general knowledge of interested parties.

Regulatory Framework

The call is based on Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30, which approves the revised text of the Basic Statute of the Public Employee. Pursuant to Article 70, personnel needs with budget allocation that must be filled through new entry must be integrated into the Public Employment Offer and published in the corresponding official gazette.

In accordance with Article 37 of the same regulation, the offer has been subject to negotiation with the City Council staff. The mayor acts using the powers conferred by Article 21.1.g of Law 7/1985, of April 2, Regulating the Bases of Local Government. Previously, the Corporation’s final general budget for 2026, including its personnel roster, had already been published in the BOP.

The Announced Positions

The offer includes two positions, one for civil service personnel and one for contractual labor personnel:

• Administrative Assistant — civil servant, group C, subgroup C2, General Administration scale, 1 vacancy.
• General Services Laborer — contractual labor personnel, assimilated group E, Special Administration scale, 1 vacancy.

Appeals against the resolution

The resolution concludes the administrative process. Interested parties may file:

• Appeal for reversal (Recurso de reposición) before the City Council itself within one month of publication; if one month passes without notification, it will be understood as dismissed by administrative silence.
• Contentious-administrative appeal directly before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Jaén within two months from the day following publication.

The call, signed in Segura de la Sierra on August 31, 2026, represents an opportunity for stable public employment for the Sierra de Segura region, strengthening the municipal staff in both administrative tasks and general services.
