Second call to enable and expand the GORE building in Punta Arenas

The Architecture Directorate of the Magallanes and Chilean Antarctic Region, under the Undersecretariat of Public Works of the Ministry of Public Works, has published the second call for the digital public tender “Enabling and Expansion of the GORE Magallanes Building in the Former Prefecture, Punta Arenas”. The notice is disseminated in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Chile, No. 44,532, Monday, August 24, 2026, Section IV (Tenders, Contests, Summons, and Loss of Documents), with CVE 2858409.

The process will be handled entirely electronically through the platform www.mercadopublico.cl, under Contract No. 437328 and Mercado Público ID No. 829-2-O126. This is a second call, indicating that the previous call was not awarded and is being relaunched under the same conditions.

Object and Financing

The work consists of enabling and expanding the building of the Regional Government (GORE) of Magallanes, located in the former Prefecture of Punta Arenas. The contract will be signed under the Lump Sum modality, with a maximum available amount of $607,939,702 (taxes included) and an execution period of 585 calendar days.

Participant Requirements

Consultants registered in the MOP Registry who meet the required specialty and category may participate. The registration corresponds to the First Superior Category, without discrimination based on ethnicity or gender.

• Specialty 6.1 Architectural Works and/or 6.4 National Monuments.

Process Calendar

The notice establishes a closed calendar for inquiries, responses, and the opening of bids, all in the Santiago de Chile time zone:

• Deadline for inquiries: from 08.24.2026 to 09.07.2026.
• Deadline for responses: until 09.16.2026.
• Closing for receipt of technical and economic bids: 09.28.2026, at 14:59 hrs.
• Opening of technical bids: 09.28.2026, at 15:00 hrs.
• Opening of economic bids: 10.16.2026, at 15:00 hrs.

The notice is signed by the Regional Ministerial Secretary of Public Works of the Magallanes and Chilean Antarctic Region, and the document is electronically signed in accordance with Law No. 19,799.

The relaunched call opens a new opportunity for architecture firms and firms specializing in national monuments in the southern zone, in a project that seeks to expand the administrative infrastructure of the Regional Government in Punta Arenas using FNDR resources.
