Second call for Celga 2, 3 and 4 exams in November

The General Secretariat for Language, dependent on the Department of Culture, Language and Youth, published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG no. 176, of September 16, 2026) the resolution of September 8, 2026, announcing the second call for exams to obtain Galician language certificates at levels Celga 2, Celga 3 and Celga 4 in 2026, with procedure code PL500C. The exams will be held in November and the registration period will be 15 business days.
The resolution, signed by the General Secretary for Language, Valentín García Gómez, responds to citizen demand in this area. The first call of 2026, approved by the resolution of March 6 (DOG no. 49, of March 13), covered levels Celga 1, 2, 3 and 4 and the exams took place in May. The new call focuses on levels 2, 3 and 4 and is framed within the regulation of official certificates of knowledge of the Galician language established by the Order of July 16, 2007, following the proposal of the Central Evaluation Commission.
Dates and locations
The exams will be held in three locations and over four days in November, provided that no exceptional circumstance prevents it:
- Celga 4: November 14, in Santiago de Compostela, Ponferrada and Madrid.
- Celga 3: November 21, in the three locations.
- Celga 2: November 22, in the three locations.
The specific venues and schedules will be published on the website of the General Secretariat for Language (https://www.lingua.gal) along with the final lists of admitted persons.
Registration and deadline
Persons over sixteen years of age, or those who reach that age in the calendar year of the call, whether nationals or foreigners, may apply. Applications should preferably be submitted electronically through the electronic office of the Xunta de Galicia (https://sede.xunta.gal), using the standardized form model PL500C, and paying the corresponding fee (code 304401).
- The deadline for submitting applications and paying the fee will be 15 business days, counted from the day following the publication of the resolution in the DOG.
- The fee remains at 16.92 euros per level, with no update regarding the current amount.
- Persons with a disability equal to or greater than 33% are exempt from paying the fee and may request exemptions or support for taking the exams.
Development of the exams
The written and oral exams will be held on the same day, and the oral exam will be recorded as a guarantee of the process. The duration varies according to the level:
- Celga 2: 2-hour written exam and 10-minute oral exam.
- Celga 3: 2.5-hour written exam and 15-minute oral exam.
- Celga 4: 3-hour written exam and 15-minute oral exam.
The summons will begin with people whose first surname starts with the letter “M”, in accordance with the draw provided for in the Personnel Selection Regulations of the autonomous Administration. Provisional results will be published within a maximum period of three months from the completion of the tests, and the final results within five months.
The call affects thousands of people who require the Galician language certificate for access to jobs, competitive examinations, and other administrative procedures, making this second annual opportunity key for those who were unable to appear in the May call or did not pass the tests.
