SEC Investor Advisory Committee to weigh AI disclosure rules

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Investor Advisory Committee will convene a public meeting on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 10 a.m. (ET) to take up disclosure and artificial intelligence, Regulation National Market System, and subcommittee reports. The notice, issued under the Government in the Sunshine Act (Public Law 94-409), was published in the Federal Register of September 8, 2026, and is being released because a majority of the Commission may attend the session.

The meeting will be conducted in person at the Commission’s headquarters, 100 F Street NE, Washington, DC 20549, in the Multipurpose Room, and by remote means. Members of the public may attend in person or watch the webcast on the Commission’s website at www.sec.gov.

Agenda and topics

The agenda for the session includes welcome and opening remarks, approval of the previous meeting’s minutes, and two panel discussions of direct interest to securities market participants.

  • A panel discussion regarding disclosure and artificial intelligence;
  • A panel discussion regarding Regulation National Market System;
  • Subcommittee reports; and
  • A non-public administrative session.

The meeting is open to the public, and the Sunshine Act notice was issued because a majority of the Commission may attend.
