Seat receives environmental authorization to recover hazardous waste in Barcelona

The Department of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition has granted Seat, SA the environmental authorization for the substantial modification with an environmental impact statement for an activity involving hazardous waste recovery facilities, including the management of used oils, in the municipality of Barcelona. The decision is formalized in Resolution TER/3380/2026, of March 25, published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya (DOGC) no. 9760, of September 29, 2026, under the reference CVE-DOGC-A-26264070-2026. The file carries the number FUE-2024-04242933 and was registered on December 12, 2024.

The resolution is framed within article 59 of Law 20/2009, of December 4, on the environmental prevention and control of activities (DOGC no. 5524, of 11.12.2009), and is based on the resolution proposal from the Director General for Climate Change and Environmental Quality. This is a substantial modification with an environmental impact statement, such that the environmental assessment of the activity, emission levels, technical prescriptions, and the control regime are those established in the attached resolution proposal.
