Sax announces a vacancy for an administrative position via internal promotion

The Sax City Council has approved the rules and the call for the selective procedure for the permanent filling of one Administrative position through the internal promotion track, as well as the creation of a pool for interim appointments for employment improvement. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante number 169, dated September 7, 2026, via announcement 6714/2026.

The rules were approved by Mayoral Decree No. 2026-1394, dated August 26, 2026, and their full content is reproduced in the gazette. The position is included in the Public Employment Offer for the 2026 fiscal year and will be filled through a competitive examination system (concurso-oposición).

Characteristics of the position

The called position corresponds to group C, subgroup C1, General Administration scale and Administrative subscale, with civil servant status and a single vacancy. Administrative positions included in subsequent annual employment offers may be added to the procedure before its completion.

Requirements and submission of applications

For permanent filling, applicants must be career civil servants of the Sax City Council in group C2, General Administration scale and Auxiliary subscale, with a minimum seniority of two years in that group. The same requirements are required for the interim pool, except for the minimum seniority. In both cases, a Higher Baccalaureate degree or Intermediate Vocational Training (FP Grado Medio) or equivalent is required, as well as the payment of the examination fee of 22.36 euros.

Applications shall be submitted electronically within a period of 20 business days, counting from the day following the publication of the call in the Official State Gazette. The call is also announced on the municipal electronic office, with an extract in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana and in the BOE.

Phases of the selective process

The system is a competitive examination, with the examination phase preceding the merit phase. The examination consists of a single eliminatory exercise involving the resolution of practical cases, with a duration of two hours, graded from 0 to 18 points, requiring a minimum of 9 to pass. The merit phase evaluates merits up to a maximum of 12 points.

The Qualifying Tribunal will be composed of a president, a secretary, and three members, all of whom shall be career officials of the Sax City Council, based on parity criteria. In the event of a tie, it will be resolved in favor of the person who obtains the highest score in the competitive examination, the person with the greatest seniority in the council, and, as a last resort, by public draw.

The interim pool

The pool will be constituted by those who pass the procedure and are not proposed for definitive appointment, ordered by decreasing score. Those who accept an interim appointment of more than one month will move to the last place on the list, and the aforementioned shall have 24 hours to accept or reject the offer. The new pool will have indefinite validity until its express repeal and will replace previously constituted pools.

The call for applications represents a consolidation opportunity for the council’s auxiliary staff, who may ascend to the administrative scale, and guarantees the Sax City Council an agile mechanism to temporarily cover the needs of its municipal services.
