Sarria modifies the fee for the issuance of administrative documents
Por FactBox Admin

The Plenary of the Sarria City Council, in a session held on July 30, 2026, agreed to provisionally approve the modification of the Fiscal Ordinance Regulating the Fee for the Issuance of Administrative Documents, a regulation that directly affects the amounts paid by residents when requesting certificates and other municipal documents. The agreement is processed under file 2116/2026 and was signed by the mayor, Claudio M. Garrido Martínez, on August 12, 2026.
The decision is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo no. 190, Friday, August 21, 2026, and is now subject to public information so that citizens may examine the file and submit allegations.
Public information and period for allegations
In compliance with article 17.2 of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Legislative Royal Decree 2/2004, of March 5, the file remains open to the public for a period of thirty business days, counted from the day following the insertion of the announcement in the BOP of Lugo.
- Period for allegations: 30 business days from publication.
- The file can be examined at the Transparency Portal of the Municipal Electronic Office of Sarria.
- Allegations shall be presented within the aforementioned period before the City Council.
Effect of the absence of claims
In accordance with article 17.3 of the same recast text, if no claims are filed against the file within the indicated period, the agreement of provisional approval shall be considered automatically elevated to definitive. This means that, after the public exhibition period has elapsed without allegations, the modification of the fiscal ordinance would be definitively approved without the need for a new plenary procedure.
The full content of the proposed modification is available to interested parties on the municipal transparency portal, where the details of the new rates and conditions of the fee can be consulted.
Relevance for residents
The fee for the issuance of administrative documents is a commonly collected tax in municipalities, applied to the issuance of certificates, copies, and other documents that citizens request from the local administration. The modification of this ordinance may result in a change in the amounts paid by the residents of Sarria for these procedures; therefore, the public information period constitutes the opportunity for citizens to become aware of and, if deemed appropriate, object to the new text before it acquires a definitive character.
