Sarria corrects the rules for the Computer Technical Assistant process

The mayor of Sarria, Claudio Melquiades Garrido Martínez, signed Decree 2026-1481, dated September 25, 2026, whereby an arithmetic error is corrected in the rules of the selection process for a position of IT Technical Assistant included in the 2023 Public Employment Offer. The resolution, processed under file 3296/2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo no. 225, dated October 1, 2026, with reference R. 2578.

The error detected in the rules

The position had been included in the 2023 Public Employment Offer through Decree 2023-1779, dated December 21, 2023, later modified by Decree 2025-0503, dated April 2, 2025, without that modification affecting this post. It concerns a position of IT Technical Assistant, Special Administration Scale, Technical Subscale, Group C, Subgroup C1, assigned to post 01.03.02 of the current List of Work Positions.

The rules of the process were approved through Decree 2026-1247, dated August 3, 2026, for the filling of the position as a career civil servant by competitive examination in an open call. In the ninth section, relating to the selection procedure, point 9.1.3 established a score of 10 points for the first exercise and another 10 for the second, that is, a total of 20 points, when the complete examination phase totals 30.

The approved rectification

The resolution invokes article 109.2 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, regarding the rectification of material, factual, or arithmetic errors, and articles 21.1.g) and 21.1.h) of Law 7/1985, of April 2, regulating the bases of the local regime. The correction is as follows:

• First exercise: multiple-choice questionnaire of 50 questions plus 5 reserve questions, with four alternative answers and 50 minutes in duration, covering the entirety of the syllabus in Annex II.
• Qualification of the first exercise: from 0 to 15 points, with a minimum of 7.5 points to pass.
• Scale: 0.30 points per correct answer, a deduction of 0.10 points per incorrect answer, and no points for blank answers.
• Second exercise: written resolution of one or several practical cases on the specific part of Annex II, with a maximum time of 90 minutes.
• Qualification of the second exercise: maximum of 15 points, with a minimum of 7.5 points to pass.

Both exercises remain mandatory and eliminatory. The tribunal may authorize the consultation of legal texts or specific manuals and decide whether the test is carried out in handwriting or using computer equipment.

Publication and appeals

The resolution orders its publication on the electronic office of the City Council, at https://sarria.sedelectronica.es. The text is signed by the mayor, Claudio Melquiades Garrido Martínez, and by the secretary, José Antonio Carro Asorey, dated in Sarria on September 28, 2026.

Against the resolution, which ends the administrative route, the following may be filed:

• Optional appeal for reversal (recurso de reposición) before the mayor within one month from the day following the notification.
• Contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Court within two months.

Impact for applicants

The rectification increases the maximum score for each of the two exercises from 10 to 15 points and raises the required minimum from 5 to 7.5 points, in addition to readjusting the value of each answer. The change directly affects those participating in the call, as it modifies the qualification criteria for the opposition phase and, with them, the real chances of passing the selection process.
