Sariñena initially approves the renovation of Plaza El Salvador.

The Sariñena City Council has initially approved, through Mayoral Resolution No. 766, of August 11, 2026, the project “Improvement of Plaza El Salvador in Sariñena (Huesca)”. The notice is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Huesca, number 153, of Thursday, August 13, 2026, and submits the file to public inspection for fifteen days. With a base tender budget of €371,496.38, it is the largest municipal public works project in this edition of the gazette.

The project has been drafted by the public works technical engineer Mr. Santiago Laborda Farran and by the civil engineer Ms. Silvia Casas Larrosa. The investment is broken down into €307,021.80 of execution budget and €64,474.58 of VAT, figures that add up to the total of €371,496.38 that will serve as the tender basis.

The procedure is governed by article 345.1 of the Regulations on Assets, Activities, Services and Works of Local Entities of Aragon, approved by Decree 347/2002, of November 19, of the Government of Aragon, which regulates the public inspection procedure for municipal works projects.

A procedure open to participation

The public inspection period is fifteen days, counted from the day following the publication of the notice in the Official Gazette of the Province of Huesca, that is, from August 14, 2026. During that period, any interested party may examine the file:

• At the municipal offices of the Sariñena City Council.
• On the town hall’s electronic headquarters (http://sarinena.sedipualba.es).

Within the same period, such allegations, suggestions or claims as deemed appropriate may be submitted, so that residents, companies and entities may comment on the project before the file continues its processing towards the contracting of the works.

Project and notice details

The resolution, dated in Sariñena on August 11, 2026, bears the signature of the mayor-president of the Sariñena City Council, Francisco Villellas Laín. The notice is inserted in the Local Administration section, within the heading of the Sariñena City Council, and is identified with the secure verification code BOPH-2026-153020.

The same edition of the gazette includes another municipal works project of significant amount: the project for the wastewater treatment plant in Abay, in the municipality of Jaca, with a budget of €289,971.93. The Sariñena project exceeds it and is thus confirmed as the largest public works investment published in this issue of the BOP.

Relevance for the municipality

With the opening of this procedure, the reform of Plaza El Salvador enters its citizen participation phase. Once the public information period is concluded, the project may be definitively approved and put out to tender with a base budget of €371,496.38, paving the way for works that will transform the public space in the town’s urban center and constitute the largest municipal commission announced in this edition of the bulletin.
