Por FactBox Admin

The City Council of Sanxenxo has definitively approved extraordinary credit 3/2026, for a total amount of 1,652,522.56 euros, financed from the treasury surplus for general expenses obtained in the 2025 settlement. The definitive approval is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Pontevedra (BOPPO), number 197, of October 13, 2026, in an edict signed by the mayor, Telmo Martín González. The credit modification is considered approved as no claims were registered during the public exhibition period.
From initial to definitive approval
The file was initially approved by agreement of the municipal Corporation in an extraordinary session held on September 10, 2026, according to the announcement published in BOPPO number 177, of September 15, 2026. At that time, a 15-day public exhibition period was opened so that interested parties could examine the file and present claims before the Plenary.
After this period elapsed without any claims being presented, the modification is definitively approved in accordance with article 169.1 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the revised text of the Law regulating local finances. The publication of the edict complies with the provisions of article 169.3 of the same regulation.
Real investments up to 13.7 million
The edict includes the summary by chapters of the 2026 general budget of the Sanxenxo City Council, with the initial allocation, the extraordinary credit, the credit supplement, and the definitive allocation. The real investments chapter is the only one affected by the modification:
- Personnel expenses: 6,673,500.00 euros initial and definitive allocation.
- Current expenses in goods and services: 10,246,600.00 euros.
- Financial expenses: 205,000.00 euros.
- Current transfers: 9,071,315.00 euros.
- Real investments: from 9,063,000.00 euros initial to 13,715,522.56 euros definitive, with 4,352,522.56 euros allocated as extraordinary credit and 300,000.00 euros as a credit supplement.
- Financial liabilities: 1,000,000.00 euros.
Financing and appeal process
The credit is financed entirely from the treasury surplus for general expenses of the Sanxenxo City Council, originating from the settlement of the 2025 financial year. The operation does not involve new debt, as it is covered by accumulated own resources.
A contentious-administrative appeal may be filed directly against the definitive approval within a period of two months, counting from the day following the publication of the edict in the Official Gazette of the province, in accordance with article 171 of the revised text of the Law regulating local finances.
The definitive edict carries the secure verification code 1H44YNG2ORJTRDIW, while the initial approval announcement incorporated the code 9N74FJWKNZ5DX5FH2HAYP9ECM, which can be consulted on the electronic headquarters of the Sanxenxo City Council.
The definitive approval consolidates the largest investment effort of the 2026 municipal budget, with a real investment figure that exceeds the initial allocation by more than 4.6 million euros, and opens a two-month period for its judicial challenge.
