The call and the regulatory bases were published in the Official Gazette of Bizkaia (BOB) number 171, on September 8, 2026, with the reference cve: BOB-2026a171-(II-4748).

Origin and scope of the call

The call was approved via Decree number 2098 of the Interior Regime, Human Resources, Citizen Security and Sports representative area, on July 29, 2026, and was signed by Mayor Itziar Carrocera Fernández on September 4, 2026. The grants will be awarded through a competitive process, in accordance with the General Grants Law Ley 38/2003, Real Decreto 8887/2006, and the General Grant Ordinance of Santurtzi City Council. The budget item is 00800 33400-4800500.

Beneficiaries and conditions

Beneficiaries will be federated sports clubs and associations based in Santurtzi, legally constituted and inscribed in the Registry of Sports Entities of the Basque Country; as an exception, natural and legal persons wishing to organize championships in the town may also be accepted. Applications must be submitted within a period of 15 business days, starting from the day following the publication of the call, via the electronic office of the Santurtzi City Council (www.santurtzi.net).

The following must be submitted along with the application:

  • The application form in Annex I.
  • The declaration of responsibility in Annex II.
  • The report in Annex III, specifying the championship budget, dates, participants, and insurance.
  • A bank certificate of the association’s account number.

Amounts and payment

Depending on the tournament and championship, grants may reach different percentages:

  • Promotion tournaments: up to 75% of the total cost of the activity.
  • Open participation championships: up to 100% of the total cost.
  • Maximum limit per entity: 20% of the available credit.

If the credit is insufficient, applications will be distributed according to a score based on technical quality and the number of direct and indirect beneficiaries. The subsidy will be paid in advance, prior to justification, at 100%, and payments exceeding 1,000 euros must be made by transfer.

Justification and obligations

Beneficiaries must justify the activity through a simplified account; eligible expenses include refereeing, prizes and trophies, advertising, insurance, travel, and technical sports equipment. Non-eligible expenses include, among others, investment costs, 50% of economic prizes, and protocol or representation expenses. In the event of overfunding, the money must be returned with interest.

This call aims to maintain the organizing activity of sports clubs in Santurtzi, promoting events that spread the town’s image externally. Associations requesting aid have a period of 15 days to submit their application, and it will have a direct impact on the dynamization of the municipal sports ecosystem.
