Santurtzi allocates 130,000 euros for grants to federated sports clubs

The Santurtzi City Council has approved the call and regulatory bases for the maintenance and ordinary operating grants for federated sports clubs and school sports for 2026, with credits of 130,000 euros. The decision was published in issue number 166 of the Boletín Oficial de Bizkaia (BOB) on September 1, 2026, with the cve-reference BOB-2026a166-(II-4446).

The call was approved via decree number 2097 of the councilorship for the area of Internal Regime, Human Resources, Citizen Security and Sports on July 29, 2026, and was signed by the acting mayor Edorta Rodrigo Izaola. The grants are registered under code BDNS 923931 and are addressed to all sports organizations in the town.

Purpose of the grants and beneficiaries

The purpose of the call is to maintain and promote the ordinary activity of federated clubs, participation in official competitions, and the development of training, initiation, and preparation programs. There are two subsidizable modalities: school sports and federated sports in local clubs.

The beneficiaries are federated clubs headquartered in Santurtzi, legally constituted and registered in the Registry of Sports Organizations of the Basque Country. Individual sports clubs must have at least 15 federated athletes, and team sports clubs must have at least two federated teams; in both cases, at least 50% of the federation cards must belong to persons registered in the municipality.

Application and deadlines

Applications must be submitted through the electronic office of the Santurtzi City Council, via the website www.santurtzi.net, within a period of 15 business days starting from the day following the publication of the call. Along with the application, among other things, the application form of Annex I, the responsibility statement of Annex II, and the report of Annex III must be presented.

Evaluation criteria and payment

The amount of the subsidy is calculated in two sections: the sports project and organizational effort, maximum 50 points, and the composition and characteristics of the club, maximum 100 points. The scoring takes into account, among others, school licenses and federated male (0.3 points) and female (0.35 points) licenses, technical titles, the Basque language, and cooperation with school olympiads.

If the credit is insufficient, the amount will be distributed proportionally according to the applicants’ scores, and the maximum limit per entity will be 20% of the credit. The subsidy will be paid 100% in advance, prior to justification, and the justification will be carried out through a simplified account.
