Por FactBox Admin

The Zonal Electoral Board of Santiago de Compostela has established the available locations for the free placement of electoral propaganda posters and the list of premises and public places reserved for campaign events for the general elections on November 29. The decision is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 200, dated October 20, 2026, in the Electoral Administration section, under announcement number 2026/6766. The 31-page document was signed in Santiago de Compostela on October 16, 2026, by the secretary of the Zonal Electoral Board, Elisa Pais Varela.
The publication complies with article 57.2 of the Organic Law 5/1985, of June 19, on the General Electoral Regime, which requires the reservation of premises and public places for the campaign, and the same regulation regarding spaces for posters. The locations were proposed by the municipalities integrated within the scope of the Zonal Electoral Board, for the elections to the Houses of the Congress of Deputies and the Senate convened by Royal Decree 806/2026, of October 5 (BOE number 248, of October 6, 2026).
The list covers 27 municipalities: Ames, Arzúa, A Baña, Boimorto, Boqueixón, Brión, Dodro, Frades, Melide, Mesía, Negreira, O Pino, Ordes, Oroso, Padrón, Rianxo, Rois, Santa Comba, Santiago de Compostela, Santiso, Teo, Toques, Tordoia, Touro, Trazo, Val do Dubra, and Vedra.
Thirty panels and one hundred square meters in the capital
Santiago de Compostela reserves ten locations with three panels each, for a total of 30 panels and 100 square meters of advertising surface:
- Rúa de San Caetano, next to the church.
- Rúa do Hórreo, corner with Antonio Casares.
- Avenida de Amor Ruibal, opposite the Pontepedriña institute.
- Praza Roxa, Avenida de Xoán Carlos I, and Rúa de Morón, opposite the Santa Isabel football field.
- Rúas de Berlín and de Ferrol, Avenida de Vista Alegre, and Avenida do Camiño Francés.
Regarding supports on public lighting, the city council makes available to the Electoral Board a general total of 1,806 poles and 5,939 columns, distributed across streets such as Castiñeiriño, Amor Ruibal, San Lázaro, Restollal, Roma, Barcelona, Castelao, or the access to the Tambre industrial estate.
Official premises and squares for events
The capital enables 23 socio-cultural centers as official premises, including those of Cancelas, Monte do Gozo, José Saramago (Vite), Fontiñas, Aurelio Aguirre de Conxo, A Sionlla, A Gracia, Serafín Zas (Rocha Vella), Nova Xeira-Figueiras, A Xunlla-Laraño, Francisco García Beiro (Marrozos), Castiñeiriño, Domingo Cepeda-O Eixo, Ponte Pedriña, Sar, Monte Longo-Grixoa, Lamascal, A Trisca, Verdía, Ensanche-Frei Rosendo Salvado, Santa Marta, O Romaño, and Maruxa e Coralia.
For outdoor events, six squares are reserved: Toural, Cervantes, Roxa, 8 de Marzo, Quintana, and Praterías. Praza Roxa is excluded on Friday, November 20, 2026, for 24 hours. The opening of the venues will be managed by Xulio Noya Liste and Modesto López de Sande, using the telephone numbers and emails listed in the announcement.
Schedules, capacities, and prior notices
Each municipality sets its own conditions of use, which the parties must respect:
- Ames: the auditoriums of Bertamiráns and Milladoiro cannot be used on November 27; that of Milladoiro also not on November 20.
- Padrón: 15 locations with billboards, including the Botanical Garden and the football field; the municipal sports center is only available on November 14 and 15.
- Rois: two pavilions with a capacity for 1,000 people and a multipurpose building for 150, with 72 hours’ prior notice.
- Dodro: five indoor venues, with a capacity between 30 and 100 people and no time limit.
- Melide: the public school requires written communication three days in advance.
- Touro: the Casa da Cultura requires 48 hours’ notice and advertising must be removed one week after the elections.
- Boqueixón: the council decided not to enable lampposts or poles and does not have radio or television stations.
- Brión: banners hung on poles are not permitted.
- Vedra: 12 panels of 244 x 120 centimeters in festival grounds and municipal lands.
- Teo: six billboards of 9.75 by 1.22 meters and lampposts on 18 roads.
An operational framework for four weeks of campaign
The publication arrives after the official call and before the start of the campaign, so that political formations already have the complete map of supports and venues to organize rallies and graphic materials in the Compostela area. The distribution is binding for the signatory municipalities and any use of the venues requires prior coordination with the local administrations or the Zonal Electoral Board itself.
