The Santander City Council has resolved the call for grants intended for the co-financing of development cooperation projects in developing countries carried out by Non-Governmental Development Organizations (ONGDs) with a headquarters or open delegation within the municipal district, corresponding to the 2026 fiscal year. The decision was adopted by the Local Government Board in an ordinary session on July 20, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria number 159, dated August 19, 2026, with reference CVE-2026-6550.
The call is processed in accordance with the Regulatory Bases for the granting of subsidies to ONGDs for the implementation of development cooperation projects, approved by Agreement of the Local Government Board on June 10, 2025, and published in the BOC number 116, dated June 18, 2025. The resolution applies the awarding criteria established in base 8 of said bases, following the evaluation of the submitted applications and the issued technical report.
Amount and financing
The agreement approves the projects listed in Annex I, subsidized for a total of 201,000.00 euros, and allocates the expenditure charged to budget item 01024.2310.48000 in favor of the entities listed in said annex. The processing complies with articles 23 and following of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, and the Cantabria Law 10/2006, of July 17, on Subsidies of Cantabria.
Correction of an entity’s CIF
Having detected an error in the CIF number of a subsidized entity, the Local Government Board, in an ordinary session on August 10, 2026, agreed to modify Annex I in the following terms:
- Where it said: “AIDA Ayuda Intercambio y Desarrollo, with CIF G82484882”.
- It should say: “AIDA Fundación de Ayuda, Intercambio y Desarrollo Activo, with CIF G56324197”.
The correction was submitted by the delegated councilor for Transparency, Immigration, and Development Cooperation, Mateo Echevarría Méndez, dated Santander, August 13, 2026.
Denied project
Annex II lists the only project denied in the call, due to late submission:
- Entity: Cooperación Vicenciana para el Desarrollo-Acción Misionera Vicenciana de España (COVIDE-AMVE).
- Project: Improvement of the quality of life of 13 families through the installation of toilets in their homes in General José María Bruguez, Paraguay, basic sanitation area.
- Total project cost: 32,976.33 euros; requested cost: 15,103.82 euros.
- Reason: denied due to late submission.
