Santa Pola approves the final list to fill an industrial engineer position

The Santa Pola City Council has approved the final list of admitted applicants for the permanent appointment to a position of Industrial Engineer (A1) through the open-access competitive examination system. The decision was adopted by Mayoral Decree No. 2026-2266, dated August 25, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante number 169, dated September 7, 2026, within section III of Local Administration.

The announcement, with official reference 6637, also establishes the composition of the Technical Selection Body and summons the applicants to the first exercise, which will be held on October 14, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Local Police Building (Av. Elche, 17, 03130 Santa Pola). The document is signed by the mayor-president, María Loreto Serrano Pomares.

The five admitted applicants

The final list of applicants who may take part in the selection process consists of five people, as stated in the announcement:

• Culiañez Tenza, José María
• López Pastor, David
• Martínez Díaz, Pedro
• Varón Sánchez, Cruz José

The announcement warns that appearing on the list of admitted applicants does not prejudge the recognition of the requirements demanded in the call for applications. If the documentation provided reveals the lack of any of these requirements, the interested person shall forfeit the rights derived from their participation.

Composition of the technical body

The Technical Selection Body is composed of a president, a secretary, and several members, with their corresponding substitutes, appointed from technical personnel of the administration itself and other entities:

• President: Nicolás García Aracil, PhD in Industrial Engineering and professor of the Department of Systems and Automation Engineering at the UMH; substitute, María José Mojica Marhuenda, Head of the Urban Planning Service of the Santa Pola City Council.
• Secretary: Emilio M. Jordán Cases, TAE lawyer for Urban Planning; substitute, Inmaculada López Aracil, Head of the Human Resources Service.
• Full members: Mónica Ballesta Galdeano, Vicente Terol Valls, José María Sabater Navarro, and Jorge Carbonell Pérez, with their substitutes Joaquín Oncina Selva, Nuria Molina Ruso, Cristina Coves Jódar, and Jorge García Martínez.
• Valencian advisor: Mari Ángels Sempere Linares.

Development of the selection process

The order of appearance for the candidates will be alphabetical, starting with the letter “P”, in accordance with the Resolution of January 20, 2026, of the Department of Economy, Finance and Public Administration (DOGV no. 10289, of January 27, 2026), unless a subsequent resolution exists. The first exercise will consist of the development of one or several practical cases related to the specific functions of the position, with a single call, meaning that those who do not appear will be excluded from the process.

The final list will be displayed on the municipal website (www.santapola.es, Public Employment section) and on the Human Resources Edicts board, where subsequent announcements of the process will also be published, as established in the Sixth Base of the specific bases.

Relevance of the call

The filling of this Industrial Engineer (A1) position reinforces the technical capacity of the Santa Pola City Council in a key area for urban management and municipal services. With the calendar already set and the selection body constituted, the process enters its decisive phase, and the five admitted candidates must appear on October 14 to pass the first test of the competitive examination.
