Santa Marta purchases a property for the Bird Visitors Center

The City Council of Santa Marta de Magasca has initially approved the file for the direct acquisition through purchase and sale of an urban property for a price of 7,000.00 euros, in order to allocate it to the municipal public heritage. The operation, promoted by Mayor Raúl Gutiérrez Mariscal, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres number 0159, dated August 20, 2026, and is subject to public information for fifteen business days.

The announcement, with reference CVE BOP-2026-3955, is framed within Section I - Local Administration of the gazette and is processed in accordance with Article 83 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, and the applicable local regime legislation.

A property for ornithological tourism

The acquired asset will be allocated to the municipality’s Tourism Assistance Service and Bird Visitors Center, serving as a strategic transit zone towards the Monfragüe National Park, one of the main bird-watching sites on the peninsula. The purchase reinforces the council’s commitment to ornithological tourism as a driver of local development.

The main characteristics of the property are as follows:

  • Location: Carrero Blanco Street, number two, Santa Marta de Magasca.
  • Surface area: approximately 38 square meters.
  • Registry data: registered in the Property Registry of Trujillo, Volume 943, Book 6, Folio 90, Property number 454.
  • Transferring owners: Braulia Casadomet Montes and Sebastián Maestre García.
  • Fixed price: 7,000.00 euros.

Period for allegations

During the public information period, the file may be examined at the offices of the Municipal Secretariat, during office hours from 9:00 to 14:00, as well as on the City Council’s electronic headquarters. Interested parties may submit any allegations, claims, or suggestions they deem appropriate.

If no claims are presented during the period of fifteen business days, counted from the day following the publication of the announcement, the agreement will be considered definitively approved and will be reported to the Plenary for ratification, proceeding thereafter to the formalization of the corresponding public deed of purchase and sale.

Impact for the municipality

The operation, signed in Santa Marta de Magasca on August 14, 2026, represents another step in the provision of tourism infrastructure for a municipality located in the Monfragüe environment. The launch of a bird visitors center could attract a greater number of tourists and consolidate the town as a gateway to the national park, with direct benefits for local trade and employment.
