Santa Fe hires nine employees for unemployed people over 30 years old

The Santa Fe City Council has approved the regulatory bases for the I Municipal Employment Program for People Over 30, a call offering nine job positions for unemployed persons aged 30 or older. The decision was adopted by the Local Government Board in an extraordinary session held on August 13, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Granada number 170, dated September 3, 2026 (reference BOP-GRA-2026-170021).

The purpose of the program is to encourage the hiring of unemployed persons aged 30 or older, facilitating the acquisition of professional experience through actual work in a real environment, with the aim of improving their employability and their possibilities for subsequent labor insertion. Applications may be submitted within a period of 10 business days starting from the day following the publication of the announcement.

Offered Positions and Conditions

The call provides for a total of nine (9) job positions, distributed across different professional categories:

• Gardener: 2 positions
• Painter: 1 position
• Bricklayer: 1 position
• Janitor: 2 positions
• Office Assistant/Messenger: 2 positions
• Administrative Employee: 1 position

Each applicant may only apply for and opt for a single position; those who submit more than one application for different positions will be excluded. The hiring modality will be fixed-term contracts linked to active employment policy programs, in accordance with the ninth additional provision of Law 3/2023, of February 28, on Employment. The initial duration will be three months, extendable for monthly periods up to a maximum of two additional months, with a working day of 30 hours per week and remuneration equivalent to the proportional minimum interprofessional wage.

Requirements and Submission of Applications

To participate in the selection process, it will be necessary to meet the following requirements:

• Be 30 years of age or older under the terms of the program’s regulatory legislation
• Be unemployed and registered as an unoccupied job seeker with the Andalusian Employment Service (SAE)
• Possess the minimum qualification, certification, or training required for the position applied for
• Hold Spanish nationality or that of another State under the terms provided in the Basic Statute of Public Employees
• Not have been dismissed through disciplinary proceedings nor be disqualified from public functions

Applications shall be submitted using the standardized form in Annex I, available on the website and the municipal electronic office, at the electronic office of the Santa Fe City Council, or at the City Council Registry (Consistorial Building, Plaza de España 2), as well as through the means specified in article 16 of Law 39/2015.

Selection by Merit Competition

Selection will be carried out through a merit-based competition based on a maximum score of 10 points, distributed across the following sections:

• Professional experience: maximum 3.50 points
• Training: maximum 1.50 points
• Registration (empadronamiento) in Santa Fe: maximum 1.00 point
• Personal interview: maximum 4.00 points

In the event of a tie, the following criteria will be applied successively: the highest score in experience, in the interview, in training, the longest period of unemployment and, as a last resort, the oldest age of the applicant. Following the scoring process, a provisional list of scores will be published and a reserve list will be established to cover possible resignations, leaves, or vacancies during the term of the program.

The call for applications represents a commitment by the municipality to the labor insertion of a group with particular difficulty in accessing employment, offering a real opportunity to acquire professional experience in the field of municipal services. The positions must be filled before the end of the 2026 fiscal year.
