Santa Bàrbara definitively approves the repair of damages from DANA Alice

The City Council of Santa Bàrbara has definitively approved the project for the adaptation and repair of damages caused by DANA Alice on Aire, Major, and Victòria streets. The agreement was issued by the Local Government Board in the session of October 1, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona on October 15, 2026, with the official reference CVE 2026-09265. The execution budget for contracting is 103,413.17 euros, to which 21,716.77 euros are added as Value Added Tax (VAT).

The published text is an announcement of the definitive approval of the project, not a tender. The agreement consists of two points: the approval of the project and the order to publish the resolution in the provincial gazette, the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya, and the Corporation’s electronic office. The document is electronically signed by the mayor, Josep Lluís Gimeno Vegué, on October 5, 2026, and incorporates the validation code of the entity’s Electronic Office, with an issuance date of October 5 at 12:15:35.

A project drafted by an external firm

The project was drafted by the firm MSARQTEC-despatx d’Arquitectura Tècnica, SLP, and is titled “Adaptation and repair of damages caused by DANA Alice on Aire, Major, and Victòria streets.” The action focuses on three urban roads in the municipality and aims to repair the damage caused by the storm.

With the definitive approval, the file is now ready to go to tender. The agreement exhausts the administrative route, meaning the project can no longer be modified through the same ordinary municipal channel.

The file thus reaches its final phase of administrative processing. Publication in the provincial gazette, the regional official gazette, and the electronic office completes the official dissemination of the agreement, as established in the second point of the resolution.

Publication and means of appeal

Against the agreement, which ends the administrative route, an appeal can be filed through two channels:

• Contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Tarragona, within a period of two months starting from the day after notification.
• Appeal for reversal before the same body that issued it, on an optional basis, within a period of one month starting from the day after notification.

The news is of interest to the residents of the affected streets and to the local construction sector, as the final approval is the step immediately preceding the tendering of the works. Once the announcement is published, interested companies may participate in the procurement process convened by the Santa Bàrbara City Council, with a starting budget of 103,413.17 euros excluding VAT.
