Sant Fruitós de Bages opens IBI grants for single-parent families

The Sant Fruitós de Bages City Council has opened the 2026 call for financial aid addressed to heads of single-parent families who are taxpayers of the Real Estate Tax (IBI) for their primary residence. The Local Governing Board approved the agreement on July 27, 2026, and the announcement was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona on August 25, 2026 (official reference CVE 202610134570).

The call is based on the regulatory bases approved by the Local Governing Board on March 30, 2026, and published in the BOPB on May 14, 2026. The objective is to partially compensate for the cost of the IBI of the primary residence of single-parent households in the municipality, with a maximum authorized expenditure of 5,000.00 euros, charged to the budget application 33 231 48000 – Social aid for families and individuals of the current municipal budget.

Deadline and application procedure

The deadline for submitting applications begins the day after the publication of the summary of the call in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona and ends on October 31, 2026. The submission of the application implies the knowledge and acceptance of the applicable legal regime.

• Applications submitted within the deadline will be examined together in a single procedure and resolved in a single administrative act.
• The maximum period to resolve and notify the resolution will be three months counting from the closing date of the submission period.
• The resolution will be issued after verifying compliance with the requirements established in the bases.

Verifications and verified requirements

Before resolving, the City Council will verify compliance with the requirements established in the regulatory bases, especially:

• The status of taxpayer of the IBI of the primary residence.
• The full quota of the tax and the cadastral value.
• The payment of the IBI receipt or the overdue installments.
• The status of the applicant regarding municipal tax obligations.

Publication and communication of the agreement

The agreement provides for the publication of the call on the electronic office and the municipal website, and to notify the Social Services Area, Audit/Intervention, and Economic Services for the appropriate purposes. The announcement was electronically signed on August 17, 2026, by the fourth deputy mayor, David Serrano Herrero.

This call represents direct support for single-parent families in Sant Fruitós de Bages, a particularly vulnerable group, and allows them to alleviate the tax burden of their primary residence. Interested persons have until October 31 to submit the application and access this financial compensation.
