Sanidade concede 81.600 euros a sete farmacias de zonas rurais especiais

The Department of Health (Consellería de Sanidade) has resolved the grants for pharmacy offices located in special pharmaceutical zones for the year 2026, a call endowed with an initial budget credit of 99,600.00 euros. The Resolution of October 8, 2026, signed by the counselor Antonio Gómez Caamaño, publishes the grants and denials and appears in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) no. 199, of October 20, 2026, in section III, page 53107.

Seven beneficiary offices and 81,600 euros distributed

The annex of the resolution details the pharmacy offices receiving aid, the pharmaceutical zone in which they are located, the province, the office code, and the amount assigned for 2026. In total, the grants sum to 81,600.00 euros, which is 18,000 euros less than the credit initially planned in the call.

  • A Teixeira (Ourense), office OR-199-F: 18,000.00 euros.
  • Larouco (Ourense), office OR-191-F: 18,000.00 euros.
  • A Peroxa (Ourense), office OR-084-F: 12,000.00 euros.
  • San Xoán de Río (Ourense), office OR-108-F: 12,000.00 euros.
  • Baleira (Lugo), office LU-092-F: 8,400.00 euros.
  • Cervantes (Lugo), office LU-156-F: 7,200.00 euros.
  • Folgoso do Courel (Lugo), office LU-161-F: 6,000.00 euros.

The first five locations concentrate 72,000 euros of the total, while the remaining two, both from the province of Lugo, receive 13,200 euros. The highest amount, 18,000 euros, corresponds to the pharmacies of A Teixeira and Larouco, and the lowest, 6,000 euros, to that of Folgoso do Courel.

Identity of the holders and causes for denial

The resolution indicates that information regarding the beneficiaries, the holders of the pharmacy offices, the amounts granted, and the causes for denial is collected in the annex accompanying the text. However, the annex published in the DOG identifies the holders via a partially hidden DNI—with three visible digits and the rest protected—in accordance with data protection requirements.

The text signed by the counselor specifies that the publication is carried out in compliance with article 15.1 of Law 9/2007, of June 13, on subsidies in Galicia, and article 45 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the common administrative procedure of public administrations. Added to these norms is article 20 of the call order itself, which regulates the form of publicity for the grants awarded.

A line of aid for the dispersed rural area

The grants are framed within the Order of March 31, 2026, which establishes the regulatory bases and calls for subsidies for pharmacy offices of the Autonomous Community of Galicia located in special pharmaceutical zones for the 2026 financial year, under the procedure code SA481B. The call has a specific budget application, 1203.411A.470.00, consigned in the resolution now published.

Special pharmaceutical zones are those in which the economic viability of the pharmacy is conditioned by population dispersion, geographical isolation, or a reduced volume of prescriptions. The municipalities included in this resolution —A Teixeira, Larouco, A Peroxa, San Xoán de Río, Baleira, Cervantes, and Folgoso do Courel— fit this profile: mountain or inland councils, with an aging population and very scattered nuclei, distributed between the provinces of Ourense and Lugo.

The publication in the DOG closes the processing route for the 2026 call and makes the assigned amounts definitive, which the beneficiary pharmacies may receive once the requirements provided in the regulatory bases have been met.

Impact for residents and owners

The resolution has a direct effect on the continuity of the pharmaceutical service in seven inland councils, where the pharmacy is the only means of access to medications without traveling to another locality. For the owners, the publication represents the confirmation of the amounts they will receive this year; for the residents of these areas, the guarantee that the service maintains the economic support of the Xunta de Galicia through the Consellería de Sanidade. The difference between the initial credit of 99,600 euros and the 81,600 euros finally granted leaves 18,000 euros unassigned in this call.
