Health and the University of Zaragoza announce four clinical professor positions

The Department of Health of the Government of Aragon and the University of Zaragoza have announced a joint public competition for the provision of permanent labor professor positions with clinical links to the Aragonese public health system. The call, corresponding to the 2025 Public Employment Offer, is published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 193, dated October 5, 2026, section II (Authorities and Personnel), with the official reference BOA20261005010. The positions called for are those numbered 705V to 708V.

The resolution is dated September 21, 2026, and is signed by the Minister of Health, Ángel Sanz Barea, and the Rector of the University of Zaragoza, Rosa María Bolea Bailo. It is issued under articles 3.2 and 50 of Organic Law 2/2023, of March 22, on the University System (LOSU) and article 159 of the Statutes of the University of Zaragoza, approved by Decree 23/2025, of February 28, of the Government of Aragon.

The positions come from the replacement rate of the University of Zaragoza and the call was authorized by the Order of November 17, 2025, of the Department of Employment, Science and Universities. The partial public employment offer for teaching and research staff had been announced by rectoral resolution on June 25, 2025 (Official Gazette of Aragon number 121, dated June 26, 2025).

Four position numbers and five allocations in Zaragoza and Huesca

Annex I details the positions, all within the knowledge area of Medicine and assigned to the Department of Medicine, Psychiatry and Dermatology:

• 705V: one allocation in the Faculty of Medicine of Zaragoza, with teaching activity in Simulation and a link to Salud 061; specialty in Family and Community Medicine.
• 706V: one allocation in the Faculty of Health and Sports Sciences of Huesca, linked to the University Hospitals of Huesca; specialty in Internal Medicine.
• 707V: one allocation in the Faculty of Health and Sports Sciences of Huesca, linked to the University Hospitals of Huesca; specialty in Hematology and Hemotherapy.
• 708V: two allocations in the Faculty of Medicine of Zaragoza, with teaching activity in OSCE-Medicine and links to health centers in Zaragoza; specialty in Family and Community Medicine.

In all cases, the healthcare category is that of Area Specialist Physician.

Requirements, deadline and participation fee

Applicants must hold a Doctorate degree and the Specialist degree in Health Sciences corresponding to the position. Additionally, they must have a positive evaluation from the Agencia de Calidad y Prospectiva Universitaria de Aragón for the position of contracted doctor professor with clinical links to the Aragonese public health system, or be accredited for access to university teaching bodies in accordance with Royal Decree 678/2023, of July 18.

The deadline for submitting applications is fifteen calendar days starting from the first business day following the publication of the call. Participation fees amount to 39.98 euros, with exemptions provided for persons with a disability of 33% or higher, members of large families, victims of terrorism, and job seekers who meet the established requirements. Applications are submitted electronically through the University of Zaragoza headquarters, and all procedural acts are published on the University’s Official Electronic Notice Board (e-TOUZ).

Two tests, commissions, and indefinite contract

The selection process consists of two tests: the presentation and debate of the curriculum, the teaching project, and the research project, with a maximum presentation of 60 minutes and a debate of up to three hours; and the presentation and debate of a topic from the program chosen by the applicant, with a maximum duration of three hours. At least two business days must elapse between the two.

Merits will be assessed by a specific commission for each position, the composition of which appears in Annex II and serves as the appointment of its members. An appeal against the hiring proposal may be filed with the rector within ten business days.

The contract will be for an indefinite period and on a full-time basis, with the set of teaching, research, and healthcare activities within the same working day. The maximum period to resolve the competition is three months from the day following the publication of the final list of admitted and excluded candidates, and the resolution, which ends the administrative route, may be challenged before the Social Courts of Zaragoza within two months.

The call opens a stable route for incorporation for medical and research personnel who wish to combine healthcare with university teaching, and reinforces the staff of the faculties of Medicine and Health and Sports Sciences in Zaragoza and Huesca. The linked position model allows the Aragonese Health Service and the University of Zaragoza to share a scarce professional profile, with a special impact on specialties such as Family and Community Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Hematology and Hemotherapy.
