Health Department appoints managers in Dénia, La Fe, and Doctor Peset

The Department of Health has resolved to fill, via the free appointment procedure, the manager positions for the Health Departments of Dénia, València-La Fe, and València-Doctor Peset, three of the main public health centers in the Community. The decision, adopted by resolution on August 13, 2026, and signed by the regional minister Marciano Gómez Gómez, is published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana number 10,434, dated August 21, 2026.

The appointment is based on the award proposals of July 9, 2026, issued by the evaluation commission that judged the call, opened by the Resolution of April 15, 2026, of the Directorate General of Personnel (DOGV 10,345, of 04.20.2026). The authority to resolve corresponds to the Department by virtue of Article 4 of Decree 22/2025, of February 11, of the Council, which approves the organic and functional Regulations of the department.

The new managers

The resolution designates the heads of the three Health Departments, with their corresponding position numbers:

• Juan Augusto Puig Larrosa, manager of the Dénia Health Department (position no. 80,336).
• José Luis Poveda Andrés, manager of the València-La Fe Health Department (position no. 27,252).
• Luis Miguel Ibáñez Gadea, manager of the València-Doctor Peset Health Department (position no. 27,270).

The three appointments are made through the free appointment system, a procedure in which the Administration assesses the suitability of candidates to hold positions of special responsibility in healthcare management.

Assumption of office and effects

The assumption of office in the awarded position will take place on the first business day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana, that is, as of August 24, 2026. The new managers thus assume the leadership of the health departments, with a direct impact on the organization of health services in their respective areas.

Appeals

The resolution exhausts the administrative route. A contentious-administrative appeal may be filed against it before the competent jurisdictional body within two months from the day following its publication, in accordance with Articles 8, 10, 14, and 46 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, regulating the contentious-administrative jurisdiction. Optionally, a request for reversal may be presented within one month, in accordance with Articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the common administrative procedure.

The renewal of the management leadership of these three health departments, which include the reference hospital of the Comunitat Valenciana, La Fe, represents a significant change in the management of Valencian public healthcare. The new managers assume the responsibility of directing centers with high levels of healthcare and research activity, within a context of strengthening public health care.
