San Pedro Bercianos presents the vehicle tax ordinance to the public
Por FactBox Admin

The City Council of San Pedro Bercianos (León) has opened the public exhibition period for the ordinance that establishes and regulates the Mechanical Traction Vehicle Tax in the municipality. The provisional agreement was adopted by the Plenary of the Corporation on September 29, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of León no. 196, corresponding to Thursday, October 15, 2026, with the official reference BOP-LE-2026-196008. The measure affects all owners of vehicles registered within the municipal boundaries.
The announcement is made public for the purposes of Article 17.1 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the revised text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries. This is the mandatory procedure prior to the definitive entry into force of the tax regulation, which sets the application framework for the municipal tax on mechanical traction vehicles.
Public exhibition for thirty business days
The public information period is 30 business days counted from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province of León. During this period, interested parties may:
- Examine the complete file at the offices of the City Council of San Pedro Bercianos.
- Submit any claims they deem appropriate at the Town Hall itself.
The announcement appears on page 38 of the provincial gazette, within the section for announcements from the province’s city councils, and bears the electronic verification seal of the organization.
Consultation of the text on the electronic office
In addition to in-person consultation, the full text of the ordinance will be available for examination on the notice board of the municipal electronic office, accessible at the address https://sanpedrobercianos.sedelectronica.es. In this way, residents can review the content of the regulation without needing to travel to the municipal offices.
The document is electronically signed by the mayor, Juan Luis Ferrero Rodríguez, and dated in San Pedro Bercianos on October 1, 2026.
What happens if no claims are filed
Once the public exhibition period has ended, if no claims have been filed, the provisional agreement for the establishment and regulation of the tax will be understood as definitively adopted. Otherwise, the City Council must resolve the allegations raised before the final approval of the ordinance.
The publication of this announcement occurs within a context of municipal tax activity in the province: the same issue of the gazette includes the public exhibition of tax registers for water, garbage, and sewage fees in Páramo del Sil and Toreno, as well as a credit modification in Valdepolo.
Impact for vehicle owners
The ordinance of the Mechanical Traction Vehicle Tax is the regulation that determines the application of the tax levied on the ownership of passenger cars, motorcycles, mopeds, vans, and other mechanically propelled vehicles fit for circulating on public roads. Its establishment and organization directly affect all vehicle owners registered or with a tax domicile in the municipality, who will see the management, settlement, and collection of the tax regulated according to the text now submitted for public information.
The period of 30 business days is the only formal opportunity for residents and affected owners to submit allegations regarding the content of the ordinance before it is definitively approved. Once the period has elapsed without claims, the regulation will come into full force without the need for a new plenary agreement.
