San Martín opens public information regarding the sewage treatment plant agreement with SOMACYL

The City Council of San Martín de la Vega del Alberche has opened the public information period for the initial text of the collaboration agreement signed with the company SOMACYL for the construction, maintenance, and operation of the municipal wastewater treatment plant (EDAR). The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ávila on August 21, 2026, number 1706/26, and is signed by the mayor-president, Óscar Muñoz Martín, dated August 13, 2026.

The process is opened in compliance with Article 83 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, which regulates the public information period in administrative procedures. During this period, the file remains available to those who may have the status of interested parties so that they may submit any allegations, suggestions, or claims they deem appropriate.

Deadline and means of consultation

The public information period extends for a term of 20 days, during which the file will be available for consultation through two channels:

• The physical offices of the City Council, located at calle Río, 4.
• The council’s electronic office, at the address http://sanmartindelavegadelalberche.sedelectronica.es.

Persons who consider themselves interested parties may appear and formulate as many allegations, suggestions, or claims as they find convenient within that period.

A key agreement for sanitation

The agreement with SOMACYL aims for the construction, maintenance, and operation of the EDAR of San Martín de la Vega del Alberche, an essential infrastructure for the sanitation and treatment of the municipality’s wastewater. The commissioning of the treatment plant will allow for the treatment of urban discharges and improve the environmental quality of the area.

The announcement further specifies that it will serve as notification to interested parties in the event that personal notification of the granting of the hearing process cannot be carried out, thus guaranteeing the right of participation of those affected.

Relevance for the municipality

The opening of this process represents a step forward in the processing of a long-awaited sanitation infrastructure for San Martín de la Vega del Alberche. The collaboration with SOMACYL will enable the construction and subsequent management of the treatment plant, an action that will improve wastewater treatment and environmental protection.
