San Fernando announces 130,000 euros in international cooperation grants
Por FactBox Admin

The San Fernando City Council has approved the regulatory bases and has called for grants on a competitive basis for the development of international development cooperation projects and awareness and education for the 2026 fiscal year. The call, approved by Mayoral Decree on July 29, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz number 166, dated August 28, 2026, with reference No. 271.132 and registration in the National Grants Database (BDNS 925018).
The total amount amounts to 130,000 euros, charged to the 2026 budget application 60/2311/489 “Aid to the Third World.” The call is addressed to Non-Governmental Development Aid Organizations (ONGDs) and non-profit entities that execute projects in San Fernando during the year 2026.
Allocation of Funds
The budget is distributed between two lines of action:
- Development Cooperation Projects: 110,500 euros.
- Awareness and Education Projects: 19,500 euros (maximum 15% of the call’s budget).
In the event that the total percentage allocated to awareness is not exhausted, the remainder will be added to the amount allocated to development cooperation projects.
Requirements and Submission of Applications
Beneficiaries may be NGDOs and non-profit entities that, in addition to the general requirements of Article 13 of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17, meet conditions such as being legally constituted and registered in the Municipal Registry of Associations of the City Council at least two years in advance, being non-profit, and having a headquarters, delegation, or representative in San Fernando. State-dependent institutions, regional administrations, local corporations, and for-profit private companies are excluded.
Applications shall be submitted electronically through the General Electronic Registry of the City Council during the 15 business days following the publication of the announcement in the BOP of Cádiz. Documentation shall be completed using the forms included as annexes to the bases, electronically signed by the person holding the legal representation of the entity.
Execution and Justification
The execution period for the subsidized projects runs from January 1 to December 31, 2026. The justification of expenses and the accreditation of the project’s completion must be submitted, preferably through the City Council’s electronic office, by March 31, 2027, using the standardized ordinary justification account model.
Entities must justify the amount of the grant awarded plus the amount they commit to contribute toward the project’s financing, i.e., the total accepted budget. Grants may finance direct and indirect expenses, and in no case may the amount, either alone or in conjunction with other aid, exceed the total cost of the subsidized activity.
The call, signed by Mayor Patricia Cabada Montañés and the Head of the Social Development Area Francisco Miguel Ríos Sánchez, reinforces the municipality’s commitment to the local third sector, offering non-profit entities a stable means of financing for their solidarity and international cooperation projects.
